Sixers President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey throws out the first pitch to Zack Wheeler at tonight’s Phillies game:
Some interesting results playing around with Basketball Index's custom lineup tool. Pretty tame projections for the Sixers' projected starting five... and much better numbers when Dean Wade or Dominick Barlow is involved. This is why Nick Nurse is going to do a ton of staggering:
Dominick Barlow is working hard on revamping his shooting mechanics after an early-season elbow injury mixed them up last season. Talked to him about the work going into that – and the many ways he sees himself fitting in alongside LeBron James: www.phillyvoice.com/sixers-news-...
ICYMI: The Sixers’ back-end roster spots may not be occupied by surefire rotation-caliber players entering 2026-27… but they are making much better depth bets now than they have over the last two years. Detailing the depth and its importance: www.phillyvoice.com/sixers-news-...
VJ Edgecombe, after growing up watching LeBron James and the Miami Heat — on TV more than any other team in The Bahamas — with a hell of an Instagram story:
Dalen Terry just posted this video of Caleb Love on his Instagram story. Nobody show @ginamizell.bsky.social.
Paul George posted a thank you to Philadelphia on Instagram earlier tonight:
Thanks for following along with tonight’s coverage of the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft. More to come tomorrow on the Sixers’ selection of Labaron Philon Jr. at No. 22 overall and potential second-round activity.
Big thank you to @tonyreast.bsky.social for helping me with contract estimates for this year’s Sixers free agency primer.
Mike Gansey will be introduced as Sixers President of Basketball Operations momentarily. Follow along this thread for updates from his first media availability…
Watching Mariska Hargitay perform from the second row with @ginamizell.bsky.social is on my list of brilliant things.

Statements from Josh Harris and Bob Myers, who will speak to reporters on Thursday afternoon:
Asked Nick Nurse about VJ Edgecombe’s rookie season now that it is over. His response:
Another year of tracking substitutions live is in the books! The 2025-26 Sixers season is over. The Sixers' top-end talent and depth failed them in the second round against the Knicks after what was a remarkable three-game run to beat the Celtics in the first round. Story coming!
Kyle Lowry, the 20-year NBA veteran, doing his early work ahead of what could be his final game:
In the first round, the Sixers became the 14th team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 series deficit. In the second round, they will now attempt to become the first team ever to erase a 3-0 series deficit and win. Here was Nick Nurse's rotation tonight. Story to come!
Sixers played 7.5 guys, and the half – Dominick Barlow – clearly should have been out there sooner. Would earlier small-ball five minutes have changed the outcome? I don't know. But it clearly did not take much to convince Nick Nurse that Barlow was his best center. Story coming.
