This lil bud held on REALLY tight for 3 minutes while I freaked out/laughed to my kids to get @dixonij.bsky.social to help get them off me
Finished Summer of Popsicle Sticks (aka #sahmsummervacation) even though I was bad at posting. Last one was going to a local donut shop that has a playroom and outside play place 🎉
Day 15, coffee date! My favorite! New to us coffee shop with kid drinks. Everyone enjoyed. Effort 2/5 Cost $15 (3 drinks & donuts) Worth it 5/5
Day 13, game day Games played: Zingo, Uno, Don't Break the Ice, Memory, Hide & Seek...and probably others? We love games. Effort 2/5 (gotta pay attention) Cost $0 Worth it 3/5
Happy Father's Day to this dude who can take very dad pictures 😂 @dixonij.bsky.social we're all a happier family because you know better than to spray me! Love you 😘
Bored, had to re-do my map of states I've visited since the World Cup is all over the country. Purple: visited Blue: overnight/enough time to have an opinion on the state Green: driven through and at least stopped for food If you want to make your own map www.mapchart.net/usa.html
Not part of #sahmsummervacation popsicle sticks but part of my GA bucket list: u-pick fruit farm! We found so many blueberries (and the kids ate so many)
Day 11, airplane watching got shifted. I was told there was an accessible kids space at the airport with windows, but couldn't confirm it and turns out the airport has paid parking soooo wildlife hike instead! Effort 2/5 (research) Cost $0 Worth it 5/5 heron! Loaf took 1st pic #sahmsummervacation
Day 10, my daughter's most anticipated, cake for no reason! We had leftover cake and frosting from Croissant's birthday. Effort 2/5 (cooking with kids is stressful) Cost $0 ($4 if I had to buy from the store) Worth it 5/5 We love cake #sahmsummervacation
If you see this, post a pokemon, animal crossing villager, flower, and color you like ✨
Traveling means exploring new coffee shops! An old fashioned-esque espresso tonic topped with cherry
Day 8, make your own ice cream! Googled ice cream in a bag recipe, found one, made it. Bag was COLD! We wrapped it in a towel for shaking & that made it easier for the kids. Effort 2/5 Cost $3.22 (I didn't have half and half) Worth it 5/5 everyone in our house loves ice cream 🍦 #sahmsummervacation
Day 7, watercolor! Experimented with sprinkling salt on after painting. Hoping to put together little ocean scenes after the sea life dries as well.
Day 6, local nature center! Small hike, found a turtle, several bug bites, then back to see their gator and indoor exhibits. Love this place 🥰 Effort 1/5 (pack snacks & bug spray) Cost $0-10 (by donation) Worth 5/5 usually, 4/5 today for 15+ bug bites across the three of us #sahmsummervacation
Day 5, cardboard construction We have the makedo cardboard construction kit but don't break it out often enough! Kids had a blast. Obviously can be done with tape and scissors too ☺️ Effort 1/5 Cost $0 Worth 5/5 #sahmsummervacation
Day 4, science experiments. Baking soda volcano, dino squishes, salt crystals on a paper clip, & milk fireworks. Set up during a Magic School Bus episode, and took us ~40 minutes. Effort 2/5 Cost $0 (Loaf has 2 science kits w/ingredients) Worth it 4/5 (Croissant lost interest) #sahmsummervacation
Day 3: a playground they've seen but hadn't gone to featuring this adorable bear tunnel. Played over an hour, great choice Effort 1/5 (snacks and water) Cost $0 Worth it 4/5 (so hot but kids so tired) #sahmsummervacation
Day 2, forts! Very fun, very simple, a classic. Kids did everything in the fort once it was built. Pro tip: use the biggest fitted sheets you can find, they stay up so well! Effort 2/5 Cost $0 Worth it 5/5 #sahmsummervacation
Day 1, handmade puppets! Amazingly cute, kids barely touched them. Took me most of the day, and I couldn't interact as much as I'd like while I sewed them. Loaf gave sewing a shot though! Effort 5/5 Cost $11 Worth it 2/5 #sahmsummervacation
Yesterday we did Mother's Day (for reasons) and we had a lovely time. My favorite household tradition is taking the kids to 5 Below or Dollar Tree to pick out gifts for birthdays/holidays. This time I received two scrunchies and a Stitch bath bomb 🎉
Croissant got a haircut AND my kids love each other it's just a nice day 💕
Since the childrens' section of our library is closed for Library Week, here's the kids from this week leaving the library. Our kids section also has: - play doh tables - stamp art - an outdoor kids garden - weekly scavenger hunt - take home crafts Your library always has more than you think!
In related news, Peeps s'mores (or Peeps just roasted over a fire) are exactly as delicious as you'd expect.
More front yard roses 🥰 I don't plan to tend the roses, they're leftover from the previous tenants, but I appreciate all their beauty
