( #nsfw) Happy (belated) yaoi day...have a fun clashing of "swords" or something #angevinyaoizart
Taking some advice and finally putting some of my own art on my wall (postcards on the left are from other people)
It's Bastille day but also Philip Augustus Death Day on July 14, 1221 which feels thematically appropriate
A Banner of Three (annoying) Lions #RichPhil What is he apologizing for??? (everything)
I was looking at my stats and .... Quod Ames is on the "top selling paid comics" page on itchio?? Thanks everyone for enjoying my comic and supporting Medieval Yaoi doujinshi.... itch.io/comics/top-s...
I have since seen the light (not that it was ever that serious) but reposting this ancient text
Spent all night FIGHTING my printer but I think I finally got the hang of it!!! I'm so stoked!!! and these are just some of my copies!!! I printed on plain colored cardstock--not glossy and not super archival but it doesn't smear and it looks soft and nice :D
Now I'm experimenting with printing at home .... Just on plain cardstock not my main paper, but still making sure stuff looks cool
I'm so hyped!!!! I need to still print the covers but I'm so excited for these hehehe
but when I became a man, I put childish things behind me #QuodAmes
Something very pleasing and comic-like about dividing up pages into squares
Don't worry he wasn't alone though I brought his beloathed soulmate
I brought Philip with me to the Alaskan Forest solely for the purpose of retraumatizing him #angevinoshikatsu
“Henry was eighteen when we met and I was Queen of France. He came down from the North to Paris with a mind like Aristotle and a form like mortal sin. We shattered the commandments on the spot.” Henry Count of Anjou and Eleanor of Aquitaine (featuring another Lion in Winter quote lol) #medieval
I also made some memes promoting my comic. I need to make some more but I want to make the Vibes a bit clear of what i am going for here #QuodAmes
Despite my gripings, I am amused by the book's very subtle pushing of the Richard x Philip yaoiz agenda while also trying to stay within the facts loool...describing them as having "battlefield magic" together and stuff...omg stoop 💜
Back to the section of the third crusade–i get that it's a big overview history and thus doesn't want to focus too much on the granular details of every conflict. But it felt weirdly generalized, lots of statements that veers into speculative territory lol.
Quite egregious to me was a passage on the chapter imagining Philip Augustus' thoughts and mindset leading up to the Battle of Bouvines that was excellent as a work of narrative storytelling but took me out because of trying to characterize him as "not particularly religious". What???
Everything I Want I have Money, notoriety and rivieras (a philip augustus doodle. Been reading “House of Lilies” and while I find it kind of lacking in some parts it is a nice general overview of the Capetian kings of France)
Richard the Lionheart in 1198 with his beautiful one year old daughter (the castle Château Gaillard overlooking the Seine) trying not to burn out with comic and life obligation stuff so returning to some loose historical doodles… #medieval #illustration
15 pages done + front cover…about halfway through 💀💀🙏🏽💀🙏🏽💀🙏🏽 cringe richard behaviors continue
