So Kansas votes tomorrow on whether to elect its Supreme Court justices. In 2022, Kris Kobach said doing exactly this would let Kansas “slowly and quietly” put anti-abortion judges on the court. Now it’s on the ballot. If you know somebody in Kansas, they should know this is going on.

I'm reading Kav's concurrence. He's an originalist—except when he's not. Because here he is advocating for a living breathing constitution. What a crock.

Kav: To spell that out: The Constitution is an enduring
document, and its principles were designed to, and do,
apply to modern conditions and developments. The original
constitutional principles do not change absent a
constitutional amendment, but the relevant principles—
both the rules and exceptions alike—must be faithfully
applied not only to circumstances as they existed in 1787,
1791, and 1868, for example, but also to modern situations
that were unknown or unanticipated by the Constitution’s
Framers.

I took a silkwood shower. Put my clothes from the dryer into a garbage bag and packed that in my suitcase. I wiped down my PS5, controllers, my phone, my iPad and my computer. I found a pair of ballet slippers I haven't worn in forever cleaned those & left them outside in the sun. I think we're ok.

Doggerson is home with a set of care instructions that made me laugh because there's so much to do at different times and I'm already at my wit's end from the last few days. He slept all night in the crate no problem. He's scared shitless but we're just letting him be curious. He's playing with toys in the yard. I think it's gonna be great. Fortunately this is my fifth rescue dog so I have a good foundation for how to work with him.
