I did it! My second tattoo in less than a month. Lol. Isn't Portia's handwriting gorgeous?
So Kansas votes tomorrow on whether to elect its Supreme Court justices. In 2022, Kris Kobach said doing exactly this would let Kansas “slowly and quietly” put anti-abortion judges on the court. Now it’s on the ballot. If you know somebody in Kansas, they should know this is going on.
"Im pro-choice but people shouldn't use abortion as birth control." @lizzwinstead.bsky.social has a question for you: What's your moral investment in somebody else's abortion? Your opinion was never a permission slip. 🎧 New B*tch, Listen. Out now wherever you get your podcasts.
For Disability Pride Month, I'm re-releasing my conversation w/ Dateline’s @joshmankiewicz.bsky.social about whose stories true crime tells—and whose it overlooks, including disabled victims, missing Black women, & Indigenous people. Subscribe to B*tch, Listen or watch here: tinyurl.com/joshmankie
Imagine being such a coward that you reply with bullshit and then block me.
Are you in the Denver area? Do you like drag, LGBTQ vendors, and repro justice? Do you also like to get to bed at a reasonable hour? This fund-rager event next Wednesday is for you. Portia and I will be there. You should be there! Tickets available here: www.eventbrite.com/e/rewire-new...

Portia is getting me a tattoo for my birthday. My first one. I almost chickened out but we are at the studio and this shit is happening. 👀🫣 Here's the design.
It's this baby's birthday today. Her life will be bumpy and people will let her down but she'll always come out on top.
Turns out the Supreme Court doesn't care that your favorite podcast ended. So I adapted. Baby Boom! Lawyered is my new micropodcast: quick analysis of repro justice, court news, legislative trends, and whatever legal chaos is happening that week. On the existing Boom! Lawyered feed.
Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito are full of shit in their dissents in the birthright citizenship case. Give me two minutes, and I'll explain why.
I'm reading Kav's concurrence. He's an originalist—except when he's not. Because here he is advocating for a living breathing constitution. What a crock.
In his majority opinion in Mullins, Sam Alito didn't print the racist shit Trump actually said about Haitians. But in her dissent, Elena Kagan made sure to.
“There’s nothing wrong with abortion. You don’t have to justify it.” - @bookersquared.bsky.social The movement focuses on the hard cases. The wanted pregnancies. The health crises. But if you just don't want to have a kid, that's okay! New episode of B*tch, Listen. Out now.
“Codifying Roe won’t do shit.” — @bookersquared.bsky.social. The Supreme Court already told you it’s a states’ rights issue. They said it in Dobbs. New episode of B*tch, Listen drops tomorrow. On YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts.
If Roe was never enough, why did it become everything? I handed that question to @bookersquared.bsky.social—JD, MPH, former FDA—and she had thoughts. New episode of B*tch, Listen drops Thursday. On YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts.
Well the clean bill of health didn't last long. Spanny DeVito is most certainly reinfected. Which is why I spent literally seven hours on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors and bleaching them—and twerking when the mood struck me.
Yesterday, the Trump DOJ gutted the main legal tool Black workers use to prove racial discrimination in the workplace. So, RIP disparate impact liability: 1971-2026*. Cause of death: hurt white feelings.
I took a silkwood shower. Put my clothes from the dryer into a garbage bag and packed that in my suitcase. I wiped down my PS5, controllers, my phone, my iPad and my computer. I found a pair of ballet slippers I haven't worn in forever cleaned those & left them outside in the sun. I think we're ok.
Doggerson is home with a set of care instructions that made me laugh because there's so much to do at different times and I'm already at my wit's end from the last few days. Thankfully Portia gets home today and I am handing over care to her for at least two days while I sit and stare into the void.
It's not even been a full day and Spanny DeVito is already settling in. #Barkfestclub
He slept all night in the crate no problem. He's scared shitless but we're just letting him be curious. He's playing with toys in the yard. I think it's gonna be great. Fortunately this is my fifth rescue dog so I have a good foundation for how to work with him.
Meet the newest member of the #barkfestclub—Spanny deVito. (This is his social media and street name. Still working on a proper name.) It was hard to top "Spaniel Day Lewis" as a name but I think we came close. ❤️🐾
We're gonna go meet a new dog!!! He's 8 months and came from a mill. 🤎🐾
