I make comic books. WHAT'S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE?, WE'RE TAKING EVERYONE DOWN WITH US, 4 KIDS WALK INTO A BANK, WE CAN NEVER GO HOME, plus stuff like Uncanny X-Men, DC vs. Vampires, The Joker, The Punisher, WildC.A.T.S., New Mutants, etc. Yeah.
Colorist appreciation post! What @francescosegala.bsky.social is doing on IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT... is some of the best coloring in recent years. Obviously @andymacdonald.bsky.social is giving him unbelievably gorgeous lines to work with too.
Barely survived SDCC and now today is FOC for IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT #4. Tell you local comic shop you want a copy now.
IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT... #3 is in comic shops today. The critics think it's pretty good. Maybe you will too.
Abe hits rock bottom. In comic shops tomorrow. Covers by @andymacdonald.bsky.social & @francescosegala.bsky.social / Riley Rossmo / @ryanbrowne.bsky.social / @jesselonergan.bsky.social Published by @imagecomics.com
Stopped into Titan Comics recently and got some books. If you're in Dallas definitely visit them. Great shop.
I read THE LAST AMERICAN by John Wagner, Alan Grant, Mick McMahon, & co. I can not say enough good things about this. Brutal, bleak, brilliant cold war sci-fi. Just a terrifying and heartbreaking story about man's inhumanity to man.
I read MR. BOOP by @alecrobbins.bsky.social . Easily one of the funniest comic strips I've ever read. A brilliant, depraved, heartfelt, and pathetic love letter to being in love, Betty Boop, and threesomes.
I read LOST IN THE FUN ZONE by Leif Goldberg. Sketches, musings, and a sort of story about a cat(?) and his... cat? It's really vibes.
I read ROAMING by @dirtbagg.bsky.social & Mariko Tamaki. Does a really compelling job of capturing the aimlessness, the hope and betrayal, and the adventurousness of a certain age.
I read BAREFOOT GEN vol. 4 by Keiji Nakazawa. Four volumes in and it's not getting any easier. Glimmers of hope and kindness are fleeting in this biography about a young boy in the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima.
I read NEW MASTERS by @shobocoker.bsky.social, @cokercoop.bsky.social. A gorgeous and interesting afro-futurist story about the struggle for resources and control of history, and those caught in the middle of it all.
I read DEADPOOL vol. 5: WHAT HAPPENED IN VEGAS by Daniel Way, Carlo Barberi. There was a point when Deadpool books could really do *anything*. This is in there.
I read THUNDERBOLTS: CAGE by @jeffparker.bsky.social, Kev Walker, & co. Lots of huge twists, like a great Thunderbolts story should have. Can never have too much Luke.
I read TURNCOAT by @alexpaknadel.bsky.social, @vor-bokor.bsky.social, @wordie.bsky.social , & co. A really smart take on Chinatown about collaborators and resistance after an alien invasion. Great world building and fun characters.
I read THE INCREDIBLE HULK vol 3: WORLD WAR HULKS by @gregpak.net, Paul Pelletier, & co. The end of the World War Hulks saga has lots of smashing but Greg always keeps it grounded and human.
Here are two books out this week that I really dug and you should be picking up. Read good stuff. Support indie comics. BEAST OF BORIKEN #1 from @julioanta.bsky.social, @danielirizarri.bsky.social & co, KILLER INFLUENCES #1 from @joeyesposito.bsky.social, Valeria Burzo & co.
In comic shops today! SPAWN #377 from myself, Stephen Segovia, @rnugentcolors.bsky.social, Tom Orzechowski, @mcfarlanecomics.bsky.social & @imagecomics.com. Covers by @mirkocolak.bsky.social lak.bsky.social & @campanaart.bsky.social. Meet some of the new bads in town.
I love it when comics ask the tough questions. How many times have I stayed up at night wondering "What if Secret Wars?"
Bought some comics from Stuart Ng Books in Torrance, Ca. If you're in the area they are a must visit. Otherwise you can order from StuartNgBooks.com
Couple of very awesome books are on FOC right now! Tell your local comic shop you want them today. cc: Tini Howard, @amilcarpinna.bsky.social, @ignitionpress.bsky.social, @tylerboss.bsky.social, @dylrburnett.bsky.social, @readtinyonion.bsky.social, @imagecomics.com
Stopped into the Skylight Books Annex recently to get some comics. If you're in LA both the book store and Annex are must visits.
Got some books at the comic shop this week. Did I miss a memo? Why are all the books orange now?
