10. SOLOS TIP - YOU START WITH 2 OTHERS There are other people around you at the start, hence why you should move outwards slowly and not run. Don't focus on them, just be mindful that they are there and keep an eye out for them. If you knock one out, immediately move position to avoid detection.

10. PICK LOOT THAT MATCHES YOUR GOAL To go along with the above tip, don't loot everything. If you have a goal, focus on getting to locations that move your goal forward. That way your bag space is going towards your priorities: survival and your overall goal. Only take extra stuff when leaving.

8. ACTUALLY UNLOCK ALL OF THE FACTIONS Speaking of factions... CyberAcme gives you all of the faction introduction quests. Do them, because you only need to do them once. Faction access stays open across seasons. GET IT DONE.

7. DO YOUR CONTRACTS Storyline contracts can be tricky, but basic ones aren't. Don't be afraid to reroll contracts you don't like. You need to do these to get actual plot, but you also need to do these to unlock upgrades and get free gear, which helps pad your losses.

6. PICK GOALS - CONTRACTS OR UPGRADES Your main objective is to raise your "floor" so you get rarer guns and tools more often from sources outside of a match. These stick for the whole season. This is where ACTUAL progress comes from. So focus on obtaining unstable materials or contract rep.

5. SPEAKING OF BOTS... KNIFE FIGHT THEM One of the best ways I save myself from trouble is using the knife to survive. 80% of my bot takedowns are knives because it's quiet, doesn't attract attention, and saves you bullets. Bullets are for players or shield jerks. Bullets are for closers.

4. LEAVE BOTS FOR LATER Stealth is your friend, if that wasn't clear. Weave between the bots at the beginning. Why leave them when they're annoying to you? They're also annoying to your opponents and could save your ass. Again, let OTHER PEOPLE make mistakes. If they get swarmed, it's a free kit.

2. DYING IS FINE HERE Expected, even. Go into every match expecting to lose your stuff. Play with your good stuff. If you don't know something, like a mission, take a free kit and practice. You CAN and WILL get your stuff back by doing contracts with the factions, as well as exfiling.

1. WALK PLACES I know you love running and I know the game is a running pun, but PLEASE STOP RUNNING. You should be WALKING. Running is loud. Being loud is bad. It obscures your hearing and reveals you to enemies - i.e. players. You want to HEAR THEM before THEY HEAR YOU.
