For example I pictured this room with the safe being unlocked and emptied in the future- but the combination is put in it so you can see that and go back to the present to unlock it!
I really wanted there to be a lot of back and forth. The future being mostly wild- monsters and animals in lairs- mabye an odd smuggler or bandit. however the present everything is locked up so you have to use the pulses to get between areas and find keys- or grab items you need.
This map was super inspired by the mission Effect and cause from titan fall 2. Funnily the time machine at the center of the map also happens to be a mech- THAT was just a conicide.
When you delved into the hidden dungeon below the academy you realized It wasn't the academy that had changed after the pulse- but you- transported into the far future. #ttrpg #dungeonsanddragons #dnd patreon.com/balatroart

@henturtlettrpg.bsky.social has such an inspiring style with his work for this book that I cant help but build lore around what were ment to be simple representitive vehicle art. The Cloudstone engine has some very deep lore- In the scene here it's just been stolen and is on a bit of a rampage!
I recently decided to go back and highlight the in-universe locations of all my #Crudilex battlemaps. (Which is I think around 100 maps at this point, yeesh!) Yisa is a city-hotair balloon flotilla made up of a culture of aeronauts who worship the sky in the far nothern shattered lands of Baanjax!

This map is a sequel of sorts to one I made 4 years ago. The idea behind its design is an encounter that takes you on a trip through many different types maps scene to scene as the portals go off and providing an opportunity for an encounter with monsters who have no business together.

These maps are so hugemungo it can be hard to see whats going on without zooming in. They are a weird size at 79x23. But thats a big part of the fun of playing online isnt it? You can get crazy with map sizes.

They instead experienced 5000 years onboard inside blinkspace while 2000 passed “realtime” trapping them inside endlessly warping all over space never able to exit. over generations devolving and forgetting there ever was a destination to begin with and eventually the humans went extinct.
In #lancerrpg lore when earth fell to climate and nuclear disasters ten ships left the planet and launched out to form whole new civilisations completely removed from earth. In my game one of these ships, “Widdershins” gets lost in Blinkspace.
