@francescahongwi.bsky.social understands that the key / cornerstone / linchpin to realizing universal child care is ✨paying childcare workers✨ what they need and deserve. Fran is leading the way in WI—and leading the way in MN is @childcareforallmn.bsky.social.
Rooting for Z (and don't want to argue with God), but on the parks budget: while much better than Eric Adams' budgets, it's far from fully funded. Read @ny4p.bsky.social's statement on the latest budget for good parks funding info—and on this issue, follow NY4P's lead. www.ny4p.org/news/stateme...
👏 Thank you @nycprogressives.bsky.social for holding the line! With your resolve & bloc-vote discipline, we will— 1️⃣ Expand CityFHEPS this year, 2️⃣ Keep thousands of NYC residents in their homes, and 3️⃣ Make meaningful progress toward keeping the city's legal promise to ensure housing for everyone.
BLACK AMERICA 250 Sat, Jun 27 @ 10a–12p Manahatta Park (Wall St b/t Water St & South St) Frederick Douglass' "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" Performed by Gbenga Akinnagbe Hosted by @advocate.nyc.gov RSVP: BlackAmerica250.eventbrite.com
Thoughtful piece here by @aasthauprety.bsky.social. In particular, I appreciate this nuanced perspective on the challenge of building a multi-racial membership in DSA.
@nychange.bsky.social's DeSean Burrus together with Oster, here at P.S. 118 in Saint Albans, Southeast Queens St. Albans, Cambria Heights, Queens Village, Hollis, Bellerose, and Floral Park: vote @osterforus.bsky.social for Assembly District 33!
Another day of getting out the vote for @osterforus.bsky.social, another Oster for Us lawn sign spotted. ☺️
Early Voting turnout has remained steadily just under 50% of last year's; the cumulative rate through Day 8 is now 45%. It's hard to get most people to care about state government except for a brief period after something bad has happened. But now thru Tue is a big chance to make it much better.
One thing I like about campaigning in eastern Queens: the field op includes lawn signs. Behold: @osterforus.bsky.social signs in Saint Albans, Southeast Queens. These lovely @osterforus.bsky.social signs were designed by the talented and magnanimous @philipleff.bsky.social.
Happy Juneteenth! Appreciate @gothamist.com's compiling events in each borough. Here's one more in Queens: Caribbean American Repertory Theatre w/ Theatre of the Living Word JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION Music & Drums from the African Diaspora Fri Jun 19 @ 10:30am Edward Davis Center 118-35 Farmers Blvd
Tony Dillon—the corrupt incumbent complicit in displacement-inducing development projects—tries both the carrot and the stick on Sam, offering him a job or threatening to hurt his reputation.
Doug E. Fresh as Sam Baker, rapping his way to the state Assembly in Southeast Queens
The osterforus.bsky.social campaign doing field, but more communally: Screening right now of "Let's Get Bizzee" (1993) at the Edward Davis Center in St. Albans The film's director—Carl Clay, who also founded Black Spectrum Theatre—is with us. I'm really enjoying this campaign and this community.
NYC's Early Voting numbers for the 2026 primaries are much lower than they were in 2025—so far, about 47% of last year's turnout. This means final-stretch field matters much more this year than it did last year. Every additional shift we do will matter. 2026 Primary - Early Voting, Day #4 numbers👇
PS: New York Future—a super PAC funded by DraftKings and FanDuel—has already spent $30–$50k on polling and oppo research and at least $109,000 on digital ads alone to support Oster's opponent. So if you have capacity to join us in the field, please do: oster-for-us.solidarity.tech 🙏
