My review for fever dream by elsie silver unfortunately... idk if I'll ever trust this author again tbh

⭐️⭐️🥲 so disappointing, I really was surprised when I first started reading it and fell in love with the characters and their dynamic and how wholesome and heroic everything was. but then towards the end of the book, it felt like out of nowhere it was less plot and quite literally only spice every single chapter. there was of course spice sprinkled throughout before that which I was fine with, I enjoy spice. but not when its literally basically every page when it wasnt like that before. and the way they so easily ended the conflict after all that time and drama? it felt so unrealistic. which like yes, its fiction its not real etc but still. I just could not get behind it. the book was just too much for me. it really was so messy and then tried to tie it up with a bow like idk. It just was not for me. I really tried but ugh. It was on and off for me like, there were some moments when I thought the book would redeem itself but idk. Overall I was just really disappointed. It just wasn't for me. wouldnt recommend.

1 hour before the test, either: turn off your device, or switch it to airplane mode. Keep the device off for at least 1 hour after the test. If you can, take your device out of earshot before turning it on. If you think this test may impact someone you know, consider discreetly letting them know about the test and providing support.

My review for the deal by elle kennedy btw in case you were curious I made it last night at 4 am (I put warning spicy review ahead because my childhood pastor and his wife are on my goodreads 😇💀 its okay tho they're chill)

WARNING: Spicy Review Ahead
What I learned from this book:
- as much as I like women, It seems I still unfortunately do like men too 😕 those smut scenes man... specifically Garrett Graham... I wish all men were like him.
- sometimes a good smutty book is truly all you need to just fucking let loose and RELAX already... I apologize for being a former & officially retired smut hater.
- as sexy as this book was, my god was the trauma relatable. me and Hannah Wells are a kindred fucking spirit let me tell you 😭and I cant even get into the ways that I related to Garrett Graham, or we'd be here all day & you all would get very concerned 🫠 let's just say, it is extremely healing to see the darkest parts of you represented so authentically and honestly in a series. especially reading the ways that they were able to overcome it, and their determination to.
I love Hannah & Garrett so much. Theyre not perfect by any means but they are amazing together and complement each other so well. Their chemistry is undeniable. You have to come into this book expecting both a balance of serious and unseriousness and you have to be ready for both. You have to know its not gonna be Shakespeare by any means but it is also a pretty good book if you just...immerse yourself, you know?
I watched the show before I read the books and as I said, Im a former smut hater so I probably wouldn't have liked the books had I not watched the show. And Im very grateful that I did. The scene on the show with the song that goes "back in my body" was so important and healing for my journey, and Im forever indebted to it. That scene is also in the book, but its 4 am and Im not sure how to describe what scene Im talking about because I dont know how much goodreads might censor stuff because I dont normally write reviews like this lol. Anyway I would recommend both the book and the show Off Campus 100 percent.
