The Bibliographical Society exists to promote the study of the history of the book, for librarians, collectors, historians and book lovers everywhere.
Looking forward to welcoming members old and new at the Firsts London book fair. We're here today from 11, and all weekend. Do come and say hello.
The Society’s gold medal was presented last night to Dr David Shaw, past President, in recognition of his distinguished services to bibliography, including in the Cathedral Libraries Catalogue and his many publications on French and English printing.
Delighted to be taking part in Firsts Rare Book Fair. Do come and say hello if you're visiting the fair.
Dating the Undatable: From woodblock to print. A session sponsored by the Society in memory of John Flood at Oxford’s lively Reading in the Woods study day. Thanks to Julianne Simpson, Ed Potten and Elizabeth Savage for speaking about methods and perils in dating woodblocks.
From one of our members, on a visit to Cornwall. #BibliographyIsOurBag
If you're buying books at Firsts London later this week, do stop by our stand for a free bookmark! We look forward to seeing you there.
