In physical vs digital news. My zoo is now pushing their digital maps over handing out physical maps. Might be more disgusted at this than Sony tbh
Man. I love this scene so much. My instinct is also to decline gifts that I view as overly generous. I imagine id be forced to say yes in this instance the way Edward was 😭. Lucy is too good. Loving Black Flag.
Ok @brianfargo.bsky.social, you have my attention. The more I hear about Clockwork Revolution, the more Im convinced we might have an all-timer coming.
One time I was browsing bluesky with my daughter on my lap and she happened to see a @hananomaude.bsky.social post. Now this is what I deal with whenever I grab my phone and shes cuddling with me.
We love our fans over here at the BNG podcast almost as much as they love us.
Bumping this up. Appreciate the great support so far! Been at work so haven't been able to respond to much so far. 007 did very well in a few categories lawl
My beagle somehow ended up in this position with 0 human help. Absolutely buried herself under the blankets. She is spoiled.
July new release hype power rankings 1. DOOM the Dark Ages Revelations 2. Halo: Campaign Evolved 3. Denshattack Weakest month of games I can recall in a while. I never play DLC but the DOOM DLC looks insane. Plus, perfect timing with a slow month.
Bumping this up! #4 is GTA 6. It's weird. I dont really have the greatest track record with GTA. But I can't deny that it's going to be a big time event. And that's extremely rare in the gaming space. What 3 games are ahead of GTA? They all might be a tad surprising.
There is good news out there, even in troubling times. AI has not come close to mastering my writing style yet. Expected, but it's nice to see how utterly bad this is 😭
I finally did it. I started PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE opening 15 minutes. So much mindfuckery. I LOVE IT.
David would like me all to inform you that the latest episode of the BNG podcast will be out tomorrow due to technical difficulties. However, he promises the FF Chronicles and 13 Sentinels boobs rants are worth the wait.
Kingdom Hearts fans would support this SMH. I knew I was right to passionately hate this series!!!
After much hype... it's happening. I'm starting 13 Sentinels. I loved Unicorn Overlord, but I have absolutely no idea how Ill feel about this one. I kinda think I will either love it or hate it, with no in-between.
Game #15 of 2026 completed: Pragmata A clever gameplay system that works way better than I expected, despite a few annoyances. The characters and story were a huge letdown sadly. But still a very solid experience.
One of many posts that make trophy hunting seem so miserable to me.
Will this be the DM that marks the end for Big Nerd Gaming? 😟
This meme inherently assumes that every game will be profitable no matter what and that gamers don't give a shit about graphic fidelity, which is obviously not true. In the end, it was a very dumb meme, and its usage has declined significantly for obvious reasons.
Game #14 of 2026 completed- Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library. This is basically Powerwash Simulator for book girlies. I like it better than Powerwash because of the light puzzle solving elements. A few small issues and glitches, but this excels at what it wants to do.
Im only 30 minutes or so into the Order of the Sinking Star demo but man. It's cooking. And I haven't even scratched the surface.
Finally starting Pragmata. I've had my eyes on it since release and I feel like Ive found a good window to sneak it in.
Game #13 of 2026 completed: MOUSE: PI for Hire. A competent boomer shooter that gets a little extra lift from its visual style and personality. A solid entry into the genre. Full review soon!
This was the statement today. I saw that yesterday and just couldn't believe that would actually happen. I guess we will see. I know corporations can make dumb decisions, but moving away from the dev that just made a huge profit hit + critical darling is one they usually don't do. Would be insane
Game #12 of 2026 completed: 007 First Light. A strong Bond game from IO. They should all have this structure going forward. Somehow they got significantly better at so many things for this more cinematic outing, but the "Hitman" elements are probably the weakest. Still loved it
Forgot to do a May update. For the first time in a while, the blog went up in May. Wooo! Bluesky referral numbers keep going up though, which is honestly the most important metric to me. Thank you for the support!
