Panel 1: Bun looks aimlessly off to her side
Panel 2: Mailer appears, alerting Bun. Mailer says, "Hey, are you alright?"
Panel 3: Mailer moves closer, confused.Bun looks off and away, quizzically. "I... think so? Sorta..?"

Panel 4: Side profiles of both women looking at each other. Bun's hair is curlier, while Mailer has a larger chest. Mailer says, "It's just that, yes, I'm glad we've been gaming a bit more-- very glad! But when's the last time you've drawn?" Bun says, "...6 months? Online anyway?" Mailer responds, "Or even in general?" Bun, stuck in her thoughts and not really answering the question, states, "I used to write too... fiction... Haven't had a serious of of that since 2023..."

My reaction to that information:

A Dragon Quest slime (blue with the signature goofy smile) with yellow tentacles beneath it, somewhat reminiscent of the roots on the bottom of a green onion. Or maybe like pasta a bit? Same as the "helpful" slime in the original post photo. The eyes are also yellow, unlike the usual white eyes of a DQ slime.

The King of Fighters 12/13 games slightly predate the 3DS's launch, but are interesting examples of the incredibly rare phenomenon of true HD sprite art. I'd argue this wasn't for any "retro" reason, and instead an unusual use case of then-modern tech, with the artwork clearly targeting 720p
