Black women earn just 65 cents for every dollar paid to white men. On #BlackWomensEqualPayDay we demand policy action and pay transparency to close this gap and ensure they are finally paid fairly for their essential work and leadership.

The Commission, along with Unchained At Last, is sponsoring AB 1267 by Commissioner @asmgailpellerin.bsky.social. AB 1267 aligns marriage laws with existing protections for children by making 18 the minimum age to marry with no exceptions.

We encourage young women and gender‑expansive youth, ages 14–20 and living in California, to step into leadership and help create statewide change. If you’re passionate about creating a better future for your community, for women and girls, this is your moment to lead.

“You have the idea you are sheltered, and all that bad stuff happens out there, not here. That was a harsh reality check for me.” Her friend’s experience sparked Sonia’s interest in finding ways for girls to defend themselves.
