For comparison, here are Kara and Cassie around that time. Another example of creative convergence is that before Stephanie took over, there was a time when Batgirl and Wonder Girl had the same rather uncommon name (Cassandra Cain and Cassandra Sandsmark).
In the 2000s, Stephanie Brown (former Spoiler and Robin) became Batgirl, with Barbara Gordon (Oracle) as her mentor. At thos time DC had reintroduced Kara Zor-El as Supergirl, and Wonder Girl (Cassie) let her hair grow. They ended up almost as triplets.
Although she is a more healthy version of herself now, current Waller is nowhere near her original self from the 80d Suicide Squad. That woman backed the g***amn Batman into a corner! (But don't get me started on Wall being a full villain now)
Etta Candy's makeover has been ongoing for a while, starting with George Pérez removing the comedic aspects and making Etta a USAF officer in the 80s. In the 2000s, Gail Simone and Terry Dodson moved Etta do the Department of Extranormal Operations. The latest revamp was by Rucka/Scott in the 2020s
As I enter the home stretch of Coyote & Crow's latest book, it's gratifying to have confirmation that I can illustrate a full book in a few months. I've made 50 illustrations since March, and I expect to be finished soon. If you have a project, get in touch and I can be your art department.
