UX folks, I often hear people say that they weren't aware that they could edit ConsoleMods if they make an account. Any ideas to make it clear that it's editable without being annoying? All I could come up with was a bubble like this if you're logged out, but it ruins the clean look.
Showed my nephew the ropes of soldering and had him install a ColecoVision RGB mod! Night and day difference.
And lastly, someone made a very fancy driver for Xbox 360 controllers! It has its own configurator and supports force feedback (rumble) and analog.
It also supports the Raphnet SNES-to-USB adapter. This was my original goal, and you can use Xpadder 5.6 (last W98 build?) to map it to keyboard controls. But if it's a two port adapter, it's a 50/50 shot which port it decides to latch on to.
TIL that if you plug a DualShock 4 controller into a Windows 98 machine, it just magically works and has analog support.
What an apt description of my FMV taste as well lol (from another article of yours)
Is anyone aware of a tool to test N64 Expansion Pak? I just assembled an OpenExp (thanks Consoles4You!!), but I can't seem to find a test to fully verify a working Expansion Pak besides just running a game that requires it.
New Xbox 360 app release! Gameplay Time Tracker is a boot plugin (by me) paired with a script (by Mz1ceW) which tracks how long you play individual games, a total across all games, and lets you mark them as "completed". Now available in the Homebrew Store! consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox_36...
Shogi devs going nuts on hardware again. I wonder if they had plans for online support, like they did for the N64 Shogi game (which is the only N64 game with online support!)
Any time you see an AI song posted, tell em you've poured your heart and soul into making an even better song and post this screenshot
It took me entirely too long to figure out that the unmodified CM logo SVG wasn't looking nice because the color fill is a shape made of many small triangles to fill the inside. Removing the background and generating a new SVG gave me this beauty
Looks cooler in the dark though. Going to see if I can modify the parking spot for the beam so it doesn't burn my phosphors too and figure out how to hide retrace lines.
Fixed my oscilloscope tonight and played with some vector stuff. Managed to adapt a vector brick breaker sample to use a 360 controller.
My list is pretty random, but maybe my taste is just chaotic. Fallout 3/NV and THPS1/2/3 were too hard to decide between, so they didn't make the cut. Might also be cheating to have MCC, but the Halo trilogy is so special to me, and my name is in the credits so I get a free pass :)
Always good to see some amber love! Maybe some Genesis MUD is what I need tonight.
Wow, x.com certainly has done a 180° from 1997 web.archive.org/web/19970411...
Da Hong Pao gang represent. What tea supplier do you use? I always order from random ones but I feel like I should find a quality one to stick to
I got cozy and wrote some homebrew for Xbox-Scene's Modfest 2025! This is a simple app that lets you set your Xbox 360's clock past 2025. I learned a lot and even documented a couple SMC commands on Free60 wiki. Get it on ConsoleMods or the Homebrew Store! consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox_36...
