It was a privilege to host Olympic legend Fatima Whitbread MBE in Parliament to promote her campaign to have a standardised Care Leavers' Charter adopted by local authorities across the UK, ensuring that care-experienced young people get a better start in life.

🤝 I met with with Karin Smyth, Health Minister, and Bayo Alaba to discuss new and improved health facilities in our City, backed earlier this year by the local Integrated Care Board. The Minister was interested in our plans and committed to working with us as we develop Opportunity Southend! 🤝

Yesterday marked a significant step forward for the LGBT+ community in Southend West and Leigh and across the country. This Labour government has published a draft law that will deliver a trans-inclusive ban on conversion practices. #conversiontherapy #lgbtqia #transinclusive

💰️😮 BILLIONS of pounds were lost in fraud, waste, and corruption during the Covid pandemic thanks to the Tories. This could've been spent on our NHS and our schools. I asked the Chancellor to outline what Labour is doing to get that money back and put it into the services that deserve it. 😮💰️
