Start at the King, then through the Queen (who's skippable), then (following an optional detour through the Sword) to the Knight, then the Bishop, then the Flower. Once you have the key, you go back through the Bishop and Knight (then another optional detour through the Sword) before leaving.

I feel like even in the final design it's not meant to be buckteeth, but still a sneer, it's just that misreading it as buckteeth is way more intuitive than the intended sneer. Especially since the merch that's meant to match the sprite design goes with a sneer

Yet another palette edit of OP's pixel art, this time using the palette the Game Boy Color assigns to the background layer for Super Mario Land 2, mixing cyan with brown with "white" being a soft light tan and "black" being a dark gray

OP's sprite with the "inverted" Game Boy Color Palette (white is black, black is white, light grey is a dark cyan, dark grey is a bright yellow), which I learned recently was made for space shmups in mind.

From how this part of Rocket Knight Adventures' credits is formatted (where there's a bit of a gap between Masanori Oouchi's name and everyone else) makes me assume that it's a situation where one main guy (Oouchi in this case) does like half the game's ost while everyone else does just a few tracks

according to Joe Murray's book the show was was fast tracked on a production schedule to produce as many episodes as possible, which resulted in a lot of burnout

an excerpt from Joe Murray's book "Creating Animated Cartoons with Character":
"The second part of the CatDog experiment, in my opinion, failed. By that time, Nickelodeon had begun “stripping” the shows that had been in production since the early ’90s. “Stripping” means to run a different episode every day of the week (rather than once a week, which is the norm when a show is in production). This is possible when you have a good amount of episodes in the can, like 52 or 60. It also makes a good syndication block. So what did the powers at Nickelodeon decide was a good experiment? To start the show out by stripping; in other words, to create as many episodes as possible as quickly as possible and start out airing a new one every day of the week. Then it could move into syndication more quickly, which is a big moneymaker for Viacom. I know a lot of the artists who were on that team, and I think they are still scraping their brains off of the floor from that experience."

I'm thinking about how the filename for the Entry 17 sound, even back in undertale, was Smile. (and it's a fucked up and distorted version of Muffet's laugh, which is based on the same laugh sample that was edited into being FRIEND's laugh)
