I research and write about politics, public policy, public opinion, polls, elections, geography, place, trust. I run on espresso.
If this is down to Burnham's team, it suggests impressive attention to small but important details. If it's the Met finally getting their act together over major news events being drowned out, it suggests Burnham may be the luckiest politician in Britain.
Are we past peak Reform? Will Labour enjoy a Burnham honeymoon? We may find out this summer. Latest polling from @opiniumresearch.bsky.social
Even I thought better of attempting this meme, and I literally have the t-shirt.
Same story with @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social - a narrowing Reform lead and Farage's ratings falling.
Some of the @countbinface.bsky.social policy agenda is clearly popular - will the government and other parties take note? Polling by @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social suggest the British public like (some) price caps... and abolishing VAR!
There's a similar trend in leader ratings in the @moreincommonuk.bsky.social polling, with a strong showing by Thomas Tuchel - let's hope that's still the case at the end of tonight!
It seems Reform are starting to fade in the polls and Farage's ratings are diving, just at the point Labour are poised to elect a much more popular leader/PM.
Dan Hannan is no laughing matter. He embodies why Britain is in such a mess.
Forget AI, the best device I bought this year is a spring-loaded fly gun…
Normally you'd expect governing parties to be more negatively perceived on sleaze, so it's impressive that Reform/Farage are scoring so highly on this (Zack Polanski is higher than you might usually expect for a Green, while the SNP numbers are better than you'd expect given their recent troubles).
I hope you are all reading up on the political works of @countbinface.bsky.social. There are some serious (and not so serious) policy proposals here.
