You are quite happy now to extol the “most number of Indy supporting MSPs” line but look at how damaging that “both votes SNP” was to what it could have been. The unionists would have been decimated. Easily knocked out of second place. But no.
Why Jack? Can you point me to the ISO definition of a generation? Is a throw away line a legal construct like “I would rather die in a ditch”? Is 25 your definition or is Johnson’s 50 years the right one or are people just making it up? Looks to me we are there if talking about “my generation”.
Of course, it’s always the SNP’s fault… knowledge.energyinst.org/new-energy-w...
This services is a nightmare but you would never know by the national press coverage it doesn’t www.iomtoday.co.im/news/hellish...
Brent crude oil knocking on the $100 per barrel mark again since the MOU was broken. Expect even more oil price hikes as the Houthis are closing the Bab al-Mandab Strait - the Red Sea's southern gateway - to Saudi vessels. Heating oil is now trading at $4.23 US/Gal - it was just over $2 a year ago
The SNP could have just stated “vote SNP”. Totally different than “both votes SNP”. The latter is a specific request for SNP voters to not split their vote. This is the actual outcome from the election if some of that list SNP vote has shifted. 8% and SGP would have come second…
So do you think that the EU would be happy to let the UK rejoin without getting a mandate from the population hence allowing the next gov to just exit again? SNP? I would be more worried if I was Labour branch office in Scotland -19.4 & -18. Resounding endorsement for the government’s handing in 🏴
Morning all. Nice surprise to open the curtains to a rainbow over Loch Linnhe.
That’s why (IMHO) “both votes SNP” was a bad strategy. It only gained 1 lost seat for the SNP. If just a 8% of SNP list voters had voted SGP, they (the SGP) would have come second 55% shift would have been a super majority. Both kick points that are hard to ignore.
You are telling me that that 17 is proportional to the 41 gap above or proportional to the 58 to the left? That 17 is almost half the height of the SNP seat count so closer to 38 than 17 or, if you stacked that blue bar 3.4x would it fit in the space occupied by the SNP?
Great graphic, but what is it with bar charts? No way is that 17 of Lab proportional to the SNP seat count or the delta
That worked out well. One list seat for all those wasted SNP list votes. No majority. Now people boasting how there is a record number of Indy supporting MSPs. Just look at how much bigger that record could have been without those “both votes SNP” siren calls
Just imagine how big that could have been if it hadn’t been for “both vote SNP”

I have calculated every 10% shift of SNP 2 to SGP 2 and this is what works have happened:
Thank you and all the other here that tried to convince SNP supporters of the sense to vote SNP 1 SGP 2 and I am sure that al lot of people did. BTW, I have also back calculated if we assume that 50% of the SGP List vote was from SNP voters and they had voted SNP 1&2. It only gets SNP to 60 seats
Sorry - had not updated the constituency seat count (the rest is the same)
How much did the SNP miss getting that last list seat in each region?
Both votes SNP: What it could have been. Taking the actual results and listing what would have happened as each 10% of SNP List voters switched to voting SGP:
And off course, the chart used by the BBC would have made the Lib Dem’s proud by how it is so terribly presented. Visually, it makes the gap seem little between the SNP and the others. This is reality:
Well I just checked with Google “what is the duration of the last 3 generations” So basically, ask Google about a non standard period of time and get random results. “Once in a generation” was hyperbole, like “I would rather die in a ditch” Boris Johnson.
There are lots of reasons to vote SNP 1 SGP 2 but clearly, maximising the number of seats that the SNP and SGP gets, minimises the number of unionists, including Reform. If Indy or anti Reform voters vote sensibly SNP 1 SGP 2, we can decimate the unionists.
Poll showing (ex don’t know) Ireland 73/27% Northern Ireland 68/32% ^^ in favour of reunification. Will this blow out poll convince the Secretary of State to hold a border poll or will it be more “now is not the time”? Reunification ✅ and Scotland goes. www.thenational.scot/news/2607885...
Three new ducklings last night. Another two now breaking out. Our first time incubating duck eggs from the ducks we were gifted. A very attentive Cocker Spaniel to everything going on. Now moved onto a propagation mat taken from the greenhouse.
Reform wasn’t there in 2011. The SNP are projected to get more constituency seats with a lower vote share due to Reform splitting the unionist vote. More constituency seats = a bigger regional vote divisor on the list = ZERO SNP List votes
Glasgow, SNP predicted to get all 8 seats And miss the last list seat by 26% Vote SNP 1 SGP 2 is my strong advice
I fully understand how d’Hondt works. I middle the set allocation (see attached). And i have modelled what happens if the SNP List vote swings to the Scottish Greens, so I don’t understand why the SNP have any justification to say vote SNP 1&2
