Another great shot from last night’s Tame Impala show, courtesy of my wife.
What a show! Visuals, sounds, song choice (every song a banger). Fantastic!
I’m extra credit excited! Peter Bjorn and John are coming back to Miami! Same venue as last year. Same classic album played in reverse. Their Writer’s Block anniversary show last year was truly something special so I am 100% down to do it again!
An afternoon cup and a chance to dig into my newly arrived copies of Tea or Coffee, Stars and Gravity from @aanpress.bsky.social featuring my story, “Tourist Trash.” A beautiful pocket sized paperback, imagined with love. I can’t wait to dig into it.
Thrilled to announce the acceptance of my short story, “Tourist Trash” to the latest anthology from @aanpress.bsky.social - “Tea or Coffee, Stars and Gravity.” I was very excited when I first read about this call and got out of my comfort zone to write something that would fit.
Missed a ten year anniversary for this masterpiece of an album from Andrew Bird - "Are You Serious" released April 1, 2016. This was released during a very productive time for the violining, whistling genius. But I think this album started a trend where he tightened up his songwriting...
My story was based off this amazing creature. Look at her in all her loveliness.
It's my birthday week and I have some exciting new releases to talk about. Last week saw the release of NAT20 Magazine from Demagogue Press, featuring my story "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" and tomorrow, 2/24, will see the release of Animal Noir, an anthology of anthropomorphic noir mysteries.
One of the projects I am very excited about in 2026 is the anthology, ANIMAL NOIR from Little Key Press. Born out of a silly Discord discussion about killer geese, a bunch of authors decided to write stories about anthromophic animals in the same city setting, New Growl. Cover reveal below!
I’m excited to be part of the 2026 #MDPLS Local Author Book Fair! Join me and 80+ local authors at the Main Library on Saturday, January 24, 11 AM – 5 PM for author presentations, family programs, publishing tips, book signings & more. www.mdpls.org/author-fair
My library event this weekend was fun. Didn't get much people despite really trying to get the neighborhood out, but it's always good practice to get in front of people and read with confidence and clarity. I will be part of a Local Author Fair later this month at the main library downtown.
Miami friends, acquaintances, and nemeses, I will be doing a reading at the Miami Springs branch library this Saturday, January 10th at 1:30pm. I will be copying the format of my launch event with a brief discussion, a reading, and then Q&A. Check out a cool poster the library made for the event.
I'm thrilled to share the cover of the first issue of NAT20 magazine from Demagogue Press. A unique concept where playable games and stories inspired by those games will share the same space. Aiming for a Spring 2026 release. I'll have more to say in the future, but for now, check out the cover!
2025 was a banner year for publications for me. 12 stories, including four micro fiction pieces (not listed in the image below just for space issues!). I threw together a quick image and I'll link to the stories if anybody wants to read what I've been up to this year.
Digging this new album by French folk artist, Mina Tindle. Released today. Features Sufjan Stevens on a bunch of songs.
It's pub day for the latest @underlandpress.bsky.social book, Kozy Krampus, a feast of holiday-themed cosmic horror. The third in a fantastic trilogy of anthologies exploring the cozy, the cosmic, the horror! Grab your copy below. firebirdcreative.myshopify.com/products/koz...
New Nation of Language album is out! I admit I didn’t love all the advance singles but their last albums was such a joy, I have no doubt I’m going to love this.
For my next story shout out from my collection (which turns ONE today), is a special story for me. "Ophelia and the Beast" was my first published story. First in a chapbook in 2003 and then reprinted online at Truancy Magazine in 2019. It is the first story in my collection and starts like this:
The "Posting Party" continues. This time, highlighing my story, "But My Heart Keeps Watching" - first published in 2022 in Underland Arcana and featured at the beginning of a themed octet on death and grief in my collection. It starts like this:
As I continue to celebrate the anniversary of my book's release, how about some story shout-outs? THE WORLD OUTSIDE includes my first pro sale, published in 2015 at Interfictions Online. The story is called "Number One Hit" and people have said they like it over the years. :) Opens like this:
And one more, from the esteemable @danielbraum.bsky.social whose new collection just came out yesterday! My copy is on the way.
And how about this fine praise from an excellent writer @pauljessup.com (who has released a number of EXCELLENT books from Underland)
And here's some kind words from my friend Jen @authorizedmusings.bsky.social
To continue my "Posting Party" to celebrate the one year anniversary of my book's release, how about some nice comments from fellow writers? Here is my friend @cbarzak.bsky.social with some lovely praise.
