Everyone has the right to a healthy life. The Elton John AIDS Foundation is committed to overcoming HIV and LGBTQ+ stigma, discrimination, and neglect that prevents us from ending AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
Healthcare innovation should make care easier to access not put more barriers in the way. Tiko's Co-CEO, Benoit Renard, shares how the Tiko card helps youth carry their health information with them. Even without a phone or internet, they can get personalised, responsive care wherever they are.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation's role goes beyond investing in innovation. Through our partnerships to support the rollout of long-acting injectable PrEP, we're working alongside communities to ensure they have a central voice in how programs are designed and delivered.
When asked what sets the HIV community apart, our CEO, Anne Aslett didn't hesitate. At #AIDS2026, Anne joined Karl Schmid from Plus Life Media to reflect on the strength of the global HIV movement and the deep sense of connection, solidarity and love that continues to drive progress.
“The community is the bridge between innovation and impact.” At #AIDS2026, our Partnerships and Innovation Director, Dr. Lindsay Hayden, spoke with Adaobi Olisa, Nigeria Project Lead at our partner, Root to Rise, about what it takes to turn new HIV prevention tools into accessible care.
For over 30 years, reaching the people most vulnerable to HIV has been at the heart of everything we do. As our CEO shared at #AIDS2026, "It's part of our DNA." And it shapes where we're going - putting people at the centre of care, and making sure services are convenient, affordable and safe.
1,900 people diagnosed with HIV in 4 years. 93% had never been tested before. Opt-out testing in A&Es is working - an approach we first piloted in South London in 2018, now in 88 areas of England. Read more: https://bit.ly/4w9ARoU
The world can end AIDS. But in 2025, believing wasn't enough. We had to act. Our latest Annual Report shows how we protected progress, responded to crisis, and invested in the future. Read the report: https://bit.ly/4eZI9Vg
There was a time when the world looked away. We didn’t and we never will. Today, decades of progress are on the line. So is the future we've been building toward. Your support gives us hope. Thank you for standing with us 🧡
Huge congratulations to our CEO, Anne Aslett, who has been awarded an OBE for her services to HIV, healthcare and equality! 20 years ago, Anne joined the Elton John AIDS Foundation as a volunteer, motivated by her late brother. She leads now with that same conviction and we couldn’t be prouder.
@unaids.org's report warns of a ‘perilous moment’ for the HIV response. Without renewed commitment & sustained investment, decades of progress towards ending AIDS could be at risk. The report highlights the impact of disruptions to global funding & the political choices needed to put people first.

Statement from Elton John and David Furnish on the UK Government's announcement of £21 million for global LGBTQ+ rights:
“I can still love you. I can still help you.” For Nicole, Program Manager at BEAT AIDS, these aren't just words. They're a promise she makes. Through our funding, BEAT AIDS receive trauma-informed care training from the University of Houston, strengthening how the team shows up for each client.
When communities are heard, trust is built, stigma breaks down, and care becomes more accessible and effective. By working with partners around the world, like the University of Houston, we’re building solutions shaped by the people they’re meant to serve, bringing us closer to ending AIDS.
For many people living with or at risk of HIV, trauma is part of their story. When care doesn’t recognise that, it can become another barrier. This is why trauma-informed care matters. Learn more: www.eltonjohnaidsfoundation.org/meet-titan-a...

An estimated 1.2 million people are living with HIV in the United States. Right now, 150,000 don’t know it. Ending AIDS starts with access. To testing. To prevention. To care. Our U.S. Portfolio Lead, Noelle, shares why we can’t look away and what we’re doing about it.

Every day, 570 young women hear the words: “You have HIV.” 11 years ago, Jessica was one of them. But Jessica refuses to be defined by her diagnosis and hopes to use her experience to help other women. Learn more: https://bit.ly/47nnIi3
25 years ago, Dr. Idowu stepped into an antiretroviral clinic in Nigeria as a volunteer. She witnessed the stigma and inequality. She refused to look away. Today, she's rewriting the narrative & driving change by making stigma-free HIV care accessible to everyone. Learn more: https://bit.ly/47nnIi3
Last year, 60% of women-led HIV organizations lost funding. But women leaders didn’t stop. This #InternationalWomensDay, we honor the women who refuse to look away. In 1996 Elena was told she had three years to live. Today, she leads Revanche, bringing life-changing care to communities.
A future free from AIDS must also be a future built on gender equality. As #InternationalWomensDay approaches, we’re highlighting the urgent need to center women and girls in the global HIV response and to confront the inequalities that continue to shape the epidemic.
One mission. One fearless commitment. No one gets left behind. Learn more about our mission: https://www.eltonjohnaidsfoundation.org/about-us/
Discrimination fuels health inequities around the world. At @eltonjohnaidsfoundation.org, we’re fighting back. Join us in saying no to discrimination. No to stigma. And no to hate. #ZeroDiscriminationDay
HIV is not a crime. But in 32 states across the U.S. and 90+ countries, outdated laws still prosecute people for their HIV status. On #HIVIsNotACrime day, we stand with our partner @hivlawandpolicy.bsky.social to fight for laws rooted in science, dignity and justice.
When you believe in someone and watch them succeed 🧡 Huge congratulations to our partner, Tiko on securing major funding from The Audacious Project. We spotted Tiko's potential early and helped them grow. Now they're ready to reach millions more girls in sub-Saharan Africa 🌍 https://bit.ly/4kRoIR8
Opt-out testing flips the script. Our pilot in South London demonstrated just how powerful this approach could be. As part of the UK Government’s commitment to ending new cases of HIV, opt-out testing is being rolled out to 89 emergency departments in England, backed by a £150 million investment.
