It's eclipse day… we couldn't help ourselves 🌙 On this day (12 August) in 1654, a total solar eclipse cast Europe into darkness. This superb scientific diagram of a solar eclipse is from the Cathedral Library’s copy of the complete works of Pierre Gassendi, published in 1658.

Last week, our Opus Anglicanum Team went to London's Guildhall to witness the unveiling of the ‘Circle of Life’ project. Over a year, our team spent over 1,250 hours of stitching on the two panels that were allotted to us. We were one of twelve Cathedrals who took part in this special endeavour.

A farewell Evensong was held at Exeter Cathedral on Sunday for the Dean, Jonathan Greener, who will officially retire on 31 July. The service was attended by the public alongside the Lord-Lieutenant of Devon, the Lord Mayor of Exeter, the Bishop of Exeter and Exeter Cathedral's College of Canons.
