The first day in the sweet apple orchard for these ewe lambs - after the desert landscapes of the drought, this little grazed orchard Must seem like heaven! They are my luckiest sheep this month!

Hay. It’s the healthiest option for growing lambs when all the grass has gone, dormant due to the drought. They are also getting s little artificial feed of an evening, and picked apples and summer prunings from the apple trees, when time allows …
It is dry. This is #Exmoor. As well as the drought, the midge-spread disease #bluetongue has hit … affecting sheep, cows, goats and alpacas. I am hopeful that my sheep, now vaccinated, will be ok.
Busy week! As well as stained glass, I have been helping vaccinate sheep, as blue tongue has hit our sheep community - worrying for all all the sheep, cattle and goat keepers here on Exmoor.

It is a new piece, yeh, just because I can. Often when I get a commission I paint extra pieces and use the most relevant one … The sun was painted about 8 years ago, for a mediaeval style window in Dorset. The rabbits are extras from the fox window, just installed … the rest is my imagination …
She’s talking again! Every year I paint foxgloves, these are a little late in the season but reaching for the bright sun nevertheless!
