#weekendsingles #12inchtuesday Followed my weekend in Bath with a pitstop in Wells. The St Margaret's hospice charity shop had some pretty good 12s. Priced at 4 pound a pop I left most of them behind but did bag the Norman Cook/Billy Bragg; never heard it when it came out!
#weekendsingles Completed my weekend in Bath by watching a smashing jazz band in The Grapes. I also found The Singing Detective part 2 in a vintage shop. Thanks for all the brilliant posts everyone - have a good week!
#weekendsingles A few finds from Bath - Resolution Records, the Dorothy House and Oxfam were all rummaged!
#weekendsingles I was so shocked when I saw Feargal all dressed up I failed to buy this 12! It's certainly a strong look😃
#CDFriday #weekendsingles The discovery of this fantastic Van Morrison bootleg in a chazza has led me back to Irish Heartbeat!
#weekendsingles Prompted to play a handful of 45s before tea by @markbigstar.bsky.social who was spinning some Furs this morning!
Buried treasure discovered on the half landing! Carole King comp is up first but what next @johngstyles.bsky.social @basinhead.bsky.social @philk282.bsky.social
#weekendsingles The Pet Shop Boys' In The Night is the highlight of this Record Mirror EP from '86 in my view. The song features on Disco but was not released as a single apart from a promo as far as I can see. It's all about German occupation in Paris apparently!
#weekendsingles Now delving into my bro Pat's excellent singles collection during a visit to family HQ in Hereford. I don't remember Balaam and the Angel!
#weekendsingles Here's a few tunes I picked out - somehow managed to include Billy Joel and U2 in the same post. Silver Spings by Fleetwood Mac is a B side bonus!
#weekendsingles Signing off with a few late afternoon tunes - thanks for all the fab posts during a seriously hot weekend!
The bossman was playing an album that featured the original of Lil' Red Riding Hood and then I found a few 999 45s!
#weekendsingles Lots of super stuff in the crates @riverman.bsky.social in Oxford including the Sex Pistols six pack!
#weekendsingles Good technology playing up today - here's a random eight to start!
#weekendsingles Thanks everyone who has posted 45s this weekend - what a wonderful show! A quick selection before I head out. Have a good week!
#weekendsingles #albumalmanac Playing this 2CD Weller promo for our leader @jimmyviz.bsky.social who has been on holiday to Weston-super-Mare or something like that. These promos used to land in newsrooms all the time back in the day. Glad I kept this one😃
Hope you find a nice little earner - good to hear from you! Cash flow could be better for me too tbh. Just bagged a lovely Sinatra album for four English pounds in a local charity shop
#weekendsingles Some arty picture sleeves standing out this morning! Most of them are good tunes I reckon😃
#12inchtuesday Managed to squeeze in a few old favourites between World Cup games!
#weekendsingles Relieved @richwatson.bsky.social isn't in charge as I'm pretty sure Hello would be a red card!
#weekendsingles Flicking 45s in Riverman Records turned up this Matt Bianco single with a beautiful illustration by Haydn Cottam. Do share some of your favourite artwork picture sleeves if you get a moment!
#CDFriday #nowplaying I managed to listen to a few tunes working from home today. Heat is still crazy down south!
#nowplaying #shoeleather Was delighted to conduct a voxpop in the heatwave in Oxford as it gave me the opportunity to borrow a busker's microphone in Cornmarket and sing Substitute (tourists and students were bemused). @riverman.bsky.social of course was happy to sell me a minty Meaty Beaty!
#beautifuloxford Not sure if this is a thing on bluesky but here's my starter for 10 - Tom Tower glowing in the dusk!
#weekendsingles #nowplaying A few spins before I drive to Berkshire to witness a Greek tragedy (a school play)😂
#weekendsingles Playing a few tunes before I head out for the evening. Lady Writer sounding good!
#weekendsingles #nowplaying Walking on the Moon was a huge tune in my youth club in Llandrindod Wells as was the Pink Floyd - back to back number ones! Bought the Police 45 on holiday in St Malo along with Going Underground in 1980 - my first import buys!
#nowplaying #CDFriday After playing Mike Scott's superb solo album Bring 'Em All In on repeat in the Zafira I'm starting the weekend with some Waterboys, including one or two special bits of kit sent to me by @wallytbm.bsky.social in the great days of twitter
