Trickle looks bemused. He says, "N-no? I knew exactly where I was going. M-mostly... I asked around a-and explored a lot and eventually found the signs that I-I knew to look for!"

Dave is a strange but friendly mystery. He seems to grasp the intention of what's said to him, but actual language comprehension is less certain. [ #flameshadowart | Dave, Spinch ]

Dave, a pale skinned monster with a long body and four primary arms, waves two arms and makes an indistinct sign with one of his other hands. Text in brackets say "Waving!!" and "Hand signs!!" Spinch, a purple and blue cat-like creature, looks unamused as it adds with its own hand sign, "The only problem is... his gestures and signs are gibberish."

"And if you try to read his mind, you'll just get a headache," Spinch continues. Dave now leans over Spinch and holds it up onto its hind legs. He has some hearts around his head as he looks at Spinch and pokes its cheek with one finger. Swirling around the two characters are abstract shapes and colors that might indicate thoughts or intentions coming from Dave. Spinch winces with a headache.

A snip of a tumblr ask from twilit-beast which asks, "How does/would Honeysuckle feel about hardbone hoppers?" followed by a sketch of a young stilkin OC, Honeysuckle, looking excited and thoughtful as she says, "Cricri told me about them! They're so sturdy and hardy and can hop across really hot rocks as long as they're not liquid hot (whatever that means...) And they make hard thumps when they land on the ground!"

Honeysuckle continues talking, "Ohmygosh, I wish we had them here." A pause. "Well, I think they'd drown here, actually, so maybe not."
There is a two-sketch sequence of a hardbone hopper landing on a floating platform and then crashing through it into the muckmaggot water. Honeysuckle looks uncomfortable.

Crinum, a stilkin trapper, snickers and adds his thoughts: "I doubt you could even tame one. The bigger ones are vicious and will kick you to death easily." This is accompanied by an imagined scene of a hardbone hopper elder kicking Honeysuckle who goes spinning comically into the air from the force.
Out of the imagined scene, Honeysuckle protests vehemently, "They'll kick YOU to death because you're a meanie-head! They'd all LOVE me so much!!"

some pen sketches of a silksong oc, Skein, who starts their journey as a dreg catcher. in the largest sketch, they look like a generic dreg catcher with hood and cloak and radially pronged staff. there's a smaller sketch of them and Creige glaring grumpily at each other. then a sketch of skein, hoodless and in a different cloak, hugging seamstress. and a sketch of skein, wearing a longer cloak and still no hood, now playing a lyre and stunning a fertid with the music.

a collection of sketches of a nominally cat-like creature. it has three eyes on it's squashed, spade-like face, long, conical ears, a mouth on its neck, and a long thin tail with three taloned fingers at the end. its body is like a fat sausage, and its legs are stubby. for a couple of the sketches, it is sitting and smiling. with dilated pupils, it is examining an orb. it is grinning maliciously. it is giving two different side-eyes. it begs with its middle eye open and shiny. it avoids pets by moving its neck out of the way and growling. the final sketch is of it prancing away with the text "That was fun! Anyway!" written above it.

a pen sketch page of multiple silksong enemies and npcs. a pilgrim guide shakes their bell staff around because a wood wasp is inside the bell while another wood wasp hovers nearby confused. below, a pilgrim guide sits and happily shines their bell. in the upper right corner, bell hermit sticks his head out of his bell to listen to Ensconce who looks to be sharing gossip. below, bell hermit out of his bell grumpily holds his staff away as a pharlid diver clings to it and says "nyeh!" at him. to the left, a vaultkeeper and two pharlid divers roost on the ceiling, two sleeping while one of the divers keeps watch. humble pilgrim, an NPC that shows up at the bell shrine, has a thought bubble showing them hiding from lace who laughs in different ways. a large pendragor has caught a rhinogrund and is flying away with it while the rhinogrund looks distressed. there's a separate sketch of a pendragor from above to fill out space to the right. finally, a two-part sequence: a rhinogrund stands on its hind legs and says "dur hur I'm a person. two legs isn't so hard." A cloaked vaultkeeper standing nearby says, "Okay. ...wait." Then the vaultkeeper throws back their cloak, screams, "Back to the Memorium!" and goes after the rhinogrund who runs away in tears and on all four legs.

more pen sketches of silksong bugs. a skarr stalker wearing a rhino-styled bone helm does a cool pose and holds their spear out; there is foliage behind them. frey the shopkeep in bellhart looks bored; she rests her chin on one hand and spins a spool fragment on the counter with another. there's a chibi pilby filling space to the left of Frey. two mnemonords hover in place, one is relaxing and the other shoots icy spikes out around it. a splinterhorn appears to threaten the latter mnemonord. there's another splinterhorn filling space and looking silly. finally, a scene at the bottom of moss grotto - pilby's corpse lies next to the broken cage; some plants have grown over and through both the corpse and the cage, and there are some moss grubs browsing nearby.

Doodle Dump - June and May [ #flameshadowart | lots of OCs - most are mine, a couple belong to friends ]

a collection of doodles from june. These include Hessi, Dupe, Phthalo, Melon, Trickle, Webby, Killian, and Drei, and feature Anitra, Charlie, and Atreus who belong to Trapito, Mari, and Little, plus Lumble and Mort who are Silksong NPCs. Multiple sketches of Hessi - looking bedraggled, sipping tea, wearing her jacket, and posing attractively. Lumble sits at the back of Pilgrim's Respite with Mort as they chat. Webby looks hungrily at something she's caught. Atreus has been drawn over a collection of silksong NPC sprites to match their poses and proportions; it is silly. A collection of doodles of Anitra poking Dupe in various poses. Dupe wearing Trapito's rag sona as a bandana with the rag's eyes positioned where Dupes presumably are; Dupe says, "Wow! I can see now!" A sketch of Phthalo sitting, looking dazed, with limbs kinda splayed. Melon sitting on the floor and working on a wire sculpted tree while Charlie rests on her abdomen. Three quick doodles of Trickle. A sketch of Dupe doing a cheerleader pose but holding mothflies instead of pompoms. Finally, Killian the swampert wearing a shirt that says "I'm a Zangoose" while Drei the zangoose looks skeptically at it and says, "I can't read that."

a collection of some may doodles, featuring Melon, Magnolia, Charon, Dupe, and Cyra, plus Argos and Atreus who belong to my friends Trapito and Little respectively. Melon is a large, fat glowworm beetle - she gives a double finger gun in one sketch and does a friendly lean over a smaller bug in the sketch below; the smaller bug looks flustered. Dupe, a very fluffy drain fly, poses with a skirt; their hair is long down their back and bangs hang over their face to allow only their silly smile to be visible. Charon, a lanky beetle with three horns and a long cloak, appears to have a tangle of fleshy tendrils with large claws at the ends instead of a right arm; in the next sketch, his horns have become extra spiky and he's got more tendrils coming out of his left shoulder. Argos and Mossy Fool chat - Argos looks very grumpy but says "This makes Argos glad." to which a happy Mossy says, "yay!" Beneath them, Magnolia is lying on her belly in a potentially seductive pose; she is wearing fern leaves as a frill behind her head. Finally, Atreus the wasp moth holds a mite and declares, "It's like you!" to which Cyra the wasp grumpily says, "No."

Ensconce looks boggled and with a gesture at Trickle, they say, "What? He's not my friend." Trickle curls up and has big wet eyes as he blubbers out, "Wuh..."

Trickle decided to hang himself up to keep Ensconce company :)

Trickle is now hanging by means of a clothespin clamped to the top of his hood. he looks happy and waves at ensconce pinned next to him. ensconce has stopped struggling and looks unamused.

a silly drawing of ensconce, my worm-like silksong oc, hanging from a clothesline via many colored clothespins clamped to parts of their body. there's another pin holding onto the rags they have wrapped around their head to keep their face in shadow. they flail with their arms, trying to free the rags from the clip while their long body twitches and sways trying to free itself from the other clips. trickle the silverfish is drawn down in the lower right corner looking shocked and saying "oh no!"
