a friend of mine is rebuilding my battery! - it has TEN dead cells. out of 28.
thinking about how in mainland China there’s a guy with a first gen Saturn SL driving around that has a cat box on it he calls it “Caturn”
I’ve been the first american that some PR departments have ever talked to for some Chinese car brands, and I’ve had to tell them that I may be an exception to the rule, because I’m an adventurous eater with a high (ish) spice tolerance. On the Onvo L60 drive, I ate century eggs and frog legs.
i never talk about the food in china, but this spread of food from a restaurant that sold food from Yunnan province was one of the best meals i ever had
I'm halfway through Yu's book, called Fetishized, published last year -- it's a very moving series of essays about her life and what exactly it meant to be an Asian woman in these types of spaces (including the Import Tuner spaces) of the 2000s. It's such a good read. You should pick it up.
these doors are closed believe it or not…panel gaps inconsistent and the front passenger door is too high
I knew it had been in an accident, but I assumed it was repaired well since it still had a clean title. nope.
Ive been toying with buying a used electric car, so I went to look at this Polestar 2 listed for sale near me. It was the cheapest one on sale, but not crazy cheap — about $3k cheaper than the next car up.
I'm a little skeptical of Leapmotor (how are they getting so much cars for that low of a price?) but I think the A10 could really upend the global small EV market, tbh I think it definitely will do some damage to BYD and Geely, though (This thing can be yours for $9,600.)
i think car factories using those damn humanoid bots to make shit is about complete performance. they all move around the shop floor both slow and frail also when i was in China, Xpeng was adamant that its humanoid bot was bad for manufacturing which is why they aren’t using it there.
it’s about 100 lbs so lift with your back, but this only took me about 45 mins to pull
its clear the Mrecedes Benz VLE is aiming right at Chinese big VIP vans, but I’m not sure if it’ll be able to beat Zeekr, Xpeng, or Denza at their own game interesting gambit to try it in the USA and Europe, though.
one: this thing looks good two: it’s actually really crazy how easy this thing is to drive, at 1,500 hp it never feels like its out to get you. If you fuck up a little bit, this car really does take care of you, covering over all your bad input sins.
I should tell you that this thing starts at $32,000 in China. Xiaomi has shifted more than 350,000 sedans since they went on sale in 2024. The updated “second generation” is a crazy good car.
