Recently, I was thinking about both Captain Bonnie and her friend Lantern... These scenes aren't necessarily related but they both focus on the same theme: Captain Bonnie and her incurable illness. I feel bad for being so mean to them here. I owe them each a happy doodle! #grezart #skypirates

My Sky Pirate Captain, Bonnie, faces forward while grimacing slightly. A few injuries visible on her face.

I see you...you shadowy prick...I get it....you're waiting for me. Standing at the door.
But I'm not ready! Let me get prepared...put my damn lipstick on.

Context:
Bonnie has a terminal illness and has been racing the clock ever since her diagnosis. Her main ambition, expose the government of its corruption and find a vastly powerful magical item before they do, weighs on her mind every day. In this particular moment, she is struggling after a battle...battered and bruised, fighting to stay standing as she feels the darkness closing in around her from behind. She definatly looks ahead. Determined to avoid it for another day.

Death doesn't find her here. But it is still coming. It's waiting for her.

My friend's (and somewhat mine's) OC Lantern sobbing as her hands (cletched tight) shake while she looks at her friend Bonnie (not pictured).

Context: Right before this scene, Bonnie was involved in a standoff with a man she had been hunting for some time. Long story short: it doesn't go well and Bonnie is essentially a goner. The ship's doctor, Edenfield, laments she has lost too much blood.
Her friend Lantern, a witch, refuses to let her die. Not like this.
She decides to use her powers to transform water into blood. In order for it to work, she also has to use some of her life so as to give it the oomph it needs.
When Bonnie wakes up and realizes she's alive, she is furious.
She was adamant with her friends, Lantern, Edenfield, and Tristan that they should not sacrifice themselves for her sake. She made that especially clear to Lantern, since she knows she could use magic to heal her, but is fully aware it would essentially be a life for a life and she doesn't want that.

Right before the scene pictured, Bonnie gets it out of Lantern that the spell required a year of Lantern's life to work and she starts yelling while crying the words in the image. "NO no no no! Don't you idiots get it! There is no point in sacrificing for me, I'm as good as dead--"

Lantern sits down in front of her bedridden friend and tells her she is worth sacrificing for and that even if that year is all she had left she would have still given it happily. She also goes on to say that a year, 365 days, will most likely be the time she will spend mourning her after her passing; essentially saying she just gave her the time she will have spent missing her friend.

Shout out to Rain for inspiring this idea by saying twintails could wag like a puppy dog tail. He's a genius!

Welp. I don't know why this keeps happening, but it's 6am and I can't sleep. So here's some yummy food I had last year that I wish I was eating right now~☆

A photo of a mac n cheese breadcone meal consisting of garlic bread, Mac, cranberry sauce, cubed sweet potatoes, turkey and pesto? Honestly, I cannot remember what the green stuff was...
All in all...this was so yummy. It was also messy as heck. I had to eat it over a trash can at one point. 11/10

It's late and I'm working on something that won't be done until later today, so here's a silly thing I did recently featuring my DoL OC and self insert~ UwU #dol #grezart

Notes: I like to think this happened after Jay commented on Grezy's crop top and asked to try it out. The rest snowballed from there and now they are posing in front of most likely both Robin and Sydney.

Also, Grezy's collar says 'SYDNEY'S' as opposed to 'WHITNEY'S' despite this being an outfit swap. Grezy would absolutely wear a collar with Sydney's name on it so, I now think its canon she has one and would wear it from time to time on certain special occasions (since it is difficult to remove).
That said, Jay is borrowing Grezy's locket.

A silly lil comic that starts with cartoony versions of Grezy and Sydney walking and talking.
Sydney, while holding a book, asks Grezy why she is wearing a cardigan despite it being 90 degrees outside. Grezy responds first by saying, "Oh, have I not told you before?"

We cut to more detailed versions of Grezy and Sydney, where Grezy
finishes her thought by adding, "...It's so I don't have to wear a bra", which elicits an "Ohhh~" (with a heart above the word) from Sydney, who looks at Grezy while biting his lip.

Useless personal fact:

I hate bras. They are often uncomfy. So yea. My secret is I think this is a big brain move. UwU

While working on freebies for some friends, I got the itch to make pride pieces for Robin and one of my DoL OCs, Jay~<3 Robin (left) is Bi and Demisexual, while Jay (right) is Gay <3 #dol #grezart

My interpretation of Robin from DoL holds out a blue controller (most likely offering it to the viewer so the two of them can play games) while smiling with his eyes closed and blushing. The bi flag colors make up the background while his outfit has colors referring to the demisexual flag. His nails and friendship bracelet are a nod to his and Grezy's favorite colors <3

My Robin is bi and demi, hence the colors used for this pride centered piece <3

One of my DoL OCs, Jay, wears a blue tank top, his whitney collar, and long black gloves. I chose to use the blue tank top as opposed to use usual purple top because at one point in the game, Whitney (one of his boyfriends) bought him a blue top (one I am almost certain was a tank top but it might have been a tshirt now that I think about it more...oh well!)

A kiss between my interpretation of Whitney from DoL and one of my DoL OCs Jay.
Jay is in love with both Whitney and Kylar (and at one point in his timeline, Avery too). This piece depicts Whitney kissing Jay as he stands over him with one hand on a concrete wall that sports some purple graffiti Jay made that says, 'Whitney <3 Jay'.
Whitney is wearing a few bracelets, one that says, 'fuck', a plain purple one (something he got because it reminded him of Jay but he won't admit it has any reference to him), and lastly one that is made up of the bi flag colors.
Jay is wearing his 'Whitney's Pet' collar with a heart charm attached that sports the gay male flag colors.

Random fact: I was referencing a Nu Carnival screenshot of Eiden and Rei kissing while making this. At one point I finally got tired of it not looking right (kissing poses are mean) and I used the image to rough out the faces and hands for the pose to look right. I always feel weird doing this since it feels like tracing. I dunno. Maybe I just need to relax a little.

Either way! I am just glad they look happy together <3 Even Whitney can be nice sometimes <3

My interpretation of Sydney in bed, knees raised slightly with his left elbow resting on one, re-reading a letter left to him by his late Mother; tears falling down his cheeks as he allows a small smile to form on face.

Text reads: ....I don't know if you'll remember this, but one day when we were out, you found this ring and begged me to get it. When I asked why, you smiled and said, "It's for my special person! Like how Dad is to you." You were too young for it then, but now, you're an adult....I hope they love it just like you did back then. Love, Mom

Context:
In the game, Sydney's other parent is said to have passed. No current context has been given to specifically state how.
That said, despite what may have happened, I headcanon that Sydney's Mom knew they were going to die soon and left letters and gifts for Sydney to recieve throughout various milestones in his life.

This particular letter was to be given to him when he expressed an interest in marriage.
I like to think his Dad, Sirris, when giving the letter to him, stayed as emotional support and handed over the ring via a small gift box, which Syd then kept inside his a drawer in his bedside table at his father's house (even after moving in with Grezy)

I also like to think that this drawing takes place a day or two before Sydney proposes to my DoL self Insert OC (which I wrote about in a self indulgent fic last year), and is emotionally preparing himself for the occassion, while also wishing his Mom could be there to see it happen.

He stands mostly to the side, his eyes turned toward the viewer as one of his hands touches a cross brooch on his collar, while the other remains open suggesting the viewer come follow him.
Blushing, he smiles, his expression a bit coy, while saying "I'm here to serve you~Let's go some place more...private" ; suggesting a possible naughty interaction.

The background is mix of purple and pink with a bubble effect to give it a dreamy vibe.

Fun fact: Originally, I planned to include Olivine with Sydney here, but I ended up wanting to give myself less work and so I let Sydney take this one solo. One day I will try to draw Oli~Shine, but that outfit was too much work...I couldn't bring myself to do it xD
