Donald Trump and Republicans keep telling us America cannot afford to lower the cost of health care, food, housing, or energy for working families. Yet today, House Budget Republicans voted to add nearly $100 billion to the deficit, largely to bankroll the most unpopular war in American history.
Trump's disastrous war in Iran is driving up gas prices, while Republicans' so-called 'Big Beautiful Bill' is ripping health care and food assistance away from millions of Americans. Despite the damage their agenda has already caused, Republicans rejected commonsense Democratic amendments to lower costs, protect working families, and put the American people first.
I will continue fighting this 'America Last' budget, which puts endless foreign wars ahead of working families here at home.

One year later, Trump's so-called 'Big Beautiful Bill' has proven to be anything but beautiful. More than 8 million Americans have already lost their health care, and millions more are seeing their costs rise — all to give billionaires the largest tax break they have ever received.
It's about to get worse. The most devastating health care cuts in this law are still ahead, with millions more Americans at risk of losing access to care next year.
That is why I am introducing this legislation: to protect Americans' health care, lower costs, and make sure working families never have to choose between filling their gas tank and seeing a doctor when they are sick.
