Imagine heading to a cookout to celebrate 250 years of Independence on a train full of White Nationalists, in a country that still tells you to “get over it”. We still have a lot of work to do.
White Nationalists storming DC in 100 degree weather… American Patriots: “I hope you suffocate”
Shout out to all of the Fathers who show up everyday for their families, lead by example, don’t get half the credit they deserve, and still keep on pushing.
Thousands are marching in Selma calling for a full restoration of the voting rights act.
Our bill (AB 1655) that protects the social safety net of families that have been impacted by an ICE kidnapping — just passed the Assembly Human Services Committee.
Every Mother should have the right to hug her child, and every child should have the right to be held by their Mother.
Chevy Perry is one of the courageous mothers fighting for the right to hug her child during a visitation at juvenile hall. Our bill AB 1646, if signed into law, would finally give all Mothers in California that right. Let’s pass it.
This is art work incarcerated children drew in their pleas to legislators to protect their humanity. No Republicans voted for the bill.
Children in California juvenile halls are often banned from hugging their Mothers during visitations. It’s wrong, cruel, and doesn’t keep anybody any safer. Our bill to change this just passed the Asm Public Safety Committee.
Tomorrow is going to be a moment for Black History, The City, and The Culture.
In 2026, a Congressman from Texas had to bring a sign to the State of The Union reminding the President that Black People are Not Apes. Fully let that sink in for a second.
He hates them… because what they have is everything he could never buy, lie, or steal.
Today we are introducing a bill in California to give direct cash payments to families impacted by the Inglewood oil field. It’s the largest environmental reparations effort ever to be introduced in South LA The bill is AB 1661
Listen to Alex’s father talk about his son. He was a hero. He was the very best of us. We should all strive to be as courageous as he was
Keith Porter is a Black Father who was killed by an ICE Agent on New Years Eve. Do not say Renee Good and Alex Pretti’s names without also saying his. The violence of this administration touches us all, and we cannot stop calling for justice.
The streets of LA are full of people standing in solidarity with the people of Minnesota. State sanctioned violence is a threat to all of us and we have to keep each other safe.
Do not let them assassinate this man’s character the same day they killed him in cold blood. Alex was a registered nurse who stood up when others stayed silent. If our federal leaders had half of his courage, new funding for ICE wouldn’t have been approved by Congress less than 72 hours ago.
Despite a court order to release her, ICE has detained a 2 year old child and shipped her to a detention facility in Texas. This has to stop‼️
Last year ICE put more children in government “shelters” than the previous 4 years combined. Border patrol doesn’t specialize in child care. They specialize in family separation, lasting trauma, and violating basic human rights.
