Partners and friends, partners and friends: the most stable and simultaneously most frustrating part of Viktor’s life. Every day he came into the lab, knowing Jayce would be there, like he always was; Jayce would be a brilliant partner, a wonderful friend. Pushing boundaries, taking care of everything, making magic happen, like he always did. He knew that no matter what they went through, Jayce would still be there. And that no matter what Viktor did, no matter how many clues he dropped or signals he signaled, he couldn’t seem to move their relationship any further, into something more than ‘partners and friends’.
