Found the old pot holder supplies while cleaning out a closet. The ones my daughter made me years ago have been used and used and used. So I made one. Fun.
I love college football for lots of reasons but a big one is the sound of the bands. My daughter is an incoming freshman trombonist for the Marching Illini. About half the band was able to show up on campus to practice today. So cool. She is so ready to go! I-L-L!!!!
Daughter had a thing today a few hours away and didn’t want to drive alone so I came along. Got her situated, went to breakfast, checked out the town and campus, and am now comfortably ensconced in a soft chair in the public library for a few hours. Books and knitting. Pretty nice. #knitsky 🧶
A beautiful day on the Pere Marquette River in Michigan. Just stunningly gorgeous. But after TEARS of not tipping my daughter and I tipped twice. The water is COLD but we are fine except for a few scrapes from sunken trees. Fun fun fun.
In the 90s a group of friends that had just graduated from high school took a canoe trip in Michigan. They continued it for years until everyone had too many kids to continue. We are back from all over the country and here are our kids entertaining us with a volleyball game.
The front is done. The back should be mindless so hopefully won’t take too long. I want to wear it! It’s gonna be so cute!
This is Cat Benatar (Benny for short) she’s 9 and the best. If we try to sleep past 6am she sits in the hallway and screams until somebody breaks. She is very pushy and perfect. We came home a day early from vacation because we missed her.

I never knit as much as I think I’m going to knit on trips. But today is a long car day and we are done sightseeing - we want to go home! So, hours upon hours of knitting time for yours truly today. #knitsky 🧶
Zion National Park - we had a few hours so stopped in, hiked for a few hours then made our way to tonight’s hotel. So beautiful that now we are planning an all Utah national parks trip. #roadtrip

I’m traveling this week so dipping into an old post to find my stripes for #showmwyourknits this week. I love this pattern -melted shrug. Lots of brioche, interesting construction. Fun. Color combos are endless. Maybe I’ll make another someday.
Did some real tourist stuff today. 1. Santa Monica - very crowded but everyone was so nice. 2. Beverly Hills - bland, boring, gross 3. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery- incredible, very haphazard seeming, I took quite a few pictures but here’s Burt as an appetizer. #roadtrip
