In @rustrover.jetbrains.com, we’ve added a new interactive testing tool for declarative macros. New integrations include the axum and reqwest libraries, the Ferrocene toolchain, Criterion benchmarks, and support for `.env` files.
In @phpstorm.jetbrains.com , we’ve been laying the groundwork for major stability and performance improvements in future releases. New features include a tool window for managing Laravel logs and deployments, as well as a new `#[FileReference]` attribute enabling IDE intelligence for file paths.
In @rider.jetbrains.com we’ve improved performance for debugging and branch switching, reduced memory use in large .NET and game projects, strengthened game development support across all major engines, and added WPF Hot Reload.
. @intellijidea.com now supports Java 27 and Kotlin 2.4. Debugging is now easier with logpoints, console output is linked to the code that produced it, and completion of dependency coordinates is now supported. For Spring, the IDE incorporates migrations into DB structure analysis.
For @datagrip.bsky.social and the database support in other JetBrains IDEs, we’ve improved the initial data source setup experience and made it easier for you to find your way around with custom colors and query console names. You can now also set cell values as SQL expressions.
The TypeScript integration in @webstorm.jetbrains.com and other JetBrains IDEs has been updated to use TypeScript 7, the new, much faster version of the compiler. The IDE uses it by default if your project has switched to TS 7, and it’s an opt-in upgrade if you’re on an older version.
If you use Docker Compose, you can now benefit from much deeper editor integration. See the status of all services comprising your application directly in the editor, open the logs of any service, create a database connection, or navigate to the service in the browser.
The terminal now allows you to paste images and drag and drop files in order to insert their paths. If you’re using agents in the embedded terminal, it will automatically suggest that you configure the JetBrains IDE MCP server to empower the agents with IDE tools.
The updated Git integration introduced in 2026.2 improves one of the most annoying parts of the workflow – resolving merge conflicts. Now you get a clearer view of the status of all your files, and the IDE can resolve many conflicts for you.
The IDEs now bundle agent skills that teach AI agents how to use IDE features. IntelliJ IDEA, RubyMine, CLion, and Rider ship with a skill for debugging, while Rider offers skills for refactoring and performance analysis and DataGrip comes with one for database operations.
When it comes to AI, our IDEs now start up in agent mode by default, GitHub Copilot is supported out of the box, there’s a new way to install and manage agent skills with a curated skills repository, and the built-in AI completion can now use third-party model providers.
