Witnesses and questioners alike, and both supporters and opponents of Chinese exclusion, universally agreed that exclusion was meant to benefit the White race and White laborers. White supremacist "race science" tracts were submitted as "evidence" for the hearings.
Our report destroys in some detail the argument that Chinese exclusion was not racially motivated. We examined a report on Congressional hearings that examined the question of Chinese immigration, and they were *unambiguously* racist.
I used to close out my extremism lectures with this quote, which I think about a lot.

Re-creating the registry block that seems to have disappeared from my last foray, and the top search result is... hold on, you'll never guess... yes, that's right, a poorly edited AI article
This mostly makes me feel good about humanity, but what's the deal with "ilk"?
Also, like, you're the president. "The in-group has low agency" is an extremist argument (left). "There's not a thing you can do about it" is an accelerationist argument (right), especially when coming from the guy who controls the WH, courts + Congress. The only path forward is to burn it down.
