FYI: I still have a Mercury dime golf ball marker that was purchased a Western PA bridge festival in the late 1990s. I can’t help but notice the subtle irony of the bottom phrase on the reverse side. 🇺🇸

Yesterday was Vinyl Day in our humble abode. The first two LPs (Rolling Stones and The Band) are from the Town & Country Department Store in Harrisburg. Jeff Lorber Fusion album is from Caplan’s (Kenny G got his start playing in Jeff’s band). Finally it’s the 2012 Stanley Jordan double LP “Friends”

Better late then never: here are the last two weekends’ vinyl day listens, including one non-vinyl CD that we really like by Yuko Mabuchi! As you can see, Sandi & I have VERY eclectic musical tastes… peace 😎

OK we spent a good part of the weekend (and a few days beforehand) upgrading the backyard garden boxes and installing new 3-season protection tents. Hopefully we’ll have some tasty and nutritious tomatoes, peppers and zucchini to show for our efforts by this fall! @sandigranny.bsky.social

Yesterday we received the new Tedeschi Trucks Band album “Future Soul” in their custom Solar Flare color vinyl LP. Sandi & I saw them perform separately in the early 2000s then together in 2019 at the Hershey Theatre. Check it out if you like blues rock music!

We had a pretty hard frost in the backyard last night. Luckily we had harvested the last batch of tomatoes and peppers from the garden, transplanted the Greek oregano indoors and moved the hanging flowers inside overnight. Here’s a panoramic view at 8am this morning.

We enjoyed watching the Steelers vs Vikings game in Ireland via Facebook this morning. Glad our team won, but it should not have been that close of a match! ☘️🏈☘️

Another fine batch of garden tomatoes that we picked this morning, along with one more sweet green pepper. This year we planted 3 types of tomatoes— Better Boy, Better Bush and Red Beefsteak… Full disclosure: the ripening avocado in the photo is from Aldi, not our garden boxes!

We found out a few nights ago that just because you have wired smoke alarms in your 10-year old “new” home doesn’t mean they don’t have backup 9-volt batteries in them. The guest room one started loudly chirping at 3am. So we replaced the batteries in ALL of the other rooms the very next day!

We received a wee bit of rain yesterday from an afternoon thunderstorm. If we had gotten much more in the water management area (aka swale) next to our home, I was thinking we could stock it and do some fishing from our back deck! FYI: I do have my Resident Senior Lifetime Fishing License! 🦈

I knew that today must be Easter after I saw both a Baltimore Oriole songbird and a Cottontail rabbit at our bird feeders this morning! The rabbit was on the ground, of course. 🐣🐇
