he is still a very skilled swordsman and has a form of low level precognition. He knows what you will do on an instinctual level. That is also before you take into account him usualy wearing some heavily enchanted gear of his own make.
Vantat are scary to figth in general, their biology makes them incredibly hard to kill and able to shrug of wounds that should cripple a lesser being immediatly. Cutting ones arm off is at best gonna piss it off.
At his physicly strongest he is a being with literal centuries of combat experience with a body that just... doesnt permanently die. Even if you best him... he will be back on his feet in a few hours. Silver lining at this point he is also much less out to seek conflict and much calmer.
