Got back into actively playing BlazBlue because of the Trinity announcement and I was expecting to go back to my old main (Tsubaki) but it turns out that Mai clicked immediately and I'll never let go now. I love my beautiful trans daughter and her stupid spear blender.

I'll probably do this with all my XIV OCs eventually but to start it off: here is my beloved son, Hotaru! You can fit so many issues in this lizard (formerly cat).

A character inspiration template featuring one of my XIV OCs, Hotaru. CHARACTER FILE:
A former test subject who lost their body in an experiment aiming to create artificial catalysts. Their consciousness was corrupted when the experiment backfired, and was discarded as garbage data. Through sheer determination, they managed to salvage themself and survive, and now exist as a sentient virus haunting a service-type robot. Works as a hacker since.

HISTORY:
Real name Kou Sonozaki - though they have no memory of it. Originally a mere office worker with dreams of debuting as a band alongside their partner and best friend, Haruka. This dream was however cut short when their workplace’s parent company, tied to ongoing experiments about Chemical X and catalysts, selected them as a test subject. Under the excuse of a demotion for inadequate performance, they were then taken away, and all information about them falsified and/or erased, including the reason for their “death”. Since then, revenge has become their only drive for existing.

ABILITIES:
- Expert in hacking and data manipulation. Particularly talented at defense/protection endeavors.
- High-level technomancy abilities due to their nature. (note: may or may not stem from the experiments done on them.)
- Able to transfer themself from device to device in limited amounts - becomes dangerous when in repeated instances.
- (...does being fueled by pettiness and revengeful feelings count as an ability?)
