After a struggle, I managed to get off the lounge chair, get a glass and a beer
Bias notícias, principalmente pro Cerrado! Em 2010 fiz esse mapa com o desmatamento até 2008. O bioma já tinha perdido quase 50%.
Although the BDFFP cited has a lot of data on assemblages of birds, for example, which can be used to predict ecosystem collapse, no? Btw, nice seeing a picture of my former field assistant Ocírio (Juruna) still assisting research. He knows loads, especially frogs. Photo 1997, at the BDFFP.
Just received my copy. Noss was very influential to me when I started to work with connectivity conservation nearly 30 years ago. Cool to see he is still very much active!
Amazing! I was going to board the nat geo Explorer in 2013, as a lecturer/naturalist. I had to cancel my participation because my wife was due to give birth of our son then. Enjoy! www.expeditions.com/globalassets...
Lovely 60th celebration yesterday at my local pub, The George! More on Saturday.
Random iPhone daily picture. Sunset in the Rio Negro, Amazon, Brazil. December, 2025. Width in this area about 10 km.
Well, the big 60 is pretty much in sight. I feel like the end is neigh! But, still time to go to my local for a celebratory Guiness!
@richardkbroughton.bsky.social and others. A friend in London found a gull fledgling which seems to be hurt. Any ideas of what to do besides leaving it to natural selection?
Indeed. We need, though to increase the effectiveness of our protected areas. I wrote about this on LinkedIn.
So, a very kind friend gives me his previous desktop build and I’m building it in a new cabinet for my 12 year old. I thought we could do it together, educational you know. Guess, Im having so much fun, why wait for him 😉
Do dragons fly? A lovely ecdysis photo my wife took in our front garden pool.
Bushtit distribution is also wider than the one mentioned in this post.
Shame you guys don't live in Cambridge. I love these discussions Reminds me of a day, several years ago, where I left different sized grass patches to grow in the garden, and my friends Neil Burges and Noami Kingston did a survey of species duringa bbq 😀
Maybe one of the issues is the definition of rewilding? If you leave a plot of land untouched, with no intervention, to go wild, whatever becomes of it, even invasive species, is acceptable. Although that’s still a measurable outcome, if one wants to.
