Governor Maura Healey
@massgovernor
73rd Governor. Joanna's other half. Stepmom, aunt, sister, baller. Always playing for Team Massachusetts 🏀
No matter what Donald Trump does, we will protect your reproductive freedom.
In Massachusetts, women and their families shouldn't have to cross state lines for abortion care doctors can provide in our state. Today, I signed a law so they won't have to. Real freedom means health care decisions belong to women and their doctors. Not their government.
As long as I’m Governor, abortion will remain safe, legal and accessible in Massachusetts. You have my word.
More nurses mean shorter wait times, lower costs, and better care. That’s why we’re investing in training and retaining the next generation of health care workers. Great to visit Worcester State with @repmcgovern.bsky.social to meet nursing students answering the call with care and compassion.
Earlier this year, I brought together health care leaders to answer a simple question: How can we deliver the high-quality care Massachusetts is known for in a way people can actually afford?
We've had a great summer. It's not over yet, and neither are the savings on the @mbta.com. On top of discounts happening through August, we're rolling out new ways to save this fall: a 2 hr unlimited transfer window, $1.70 express bus fares, and free service for seniors 75+ without a license.
As a former prosecutor and attorney general, I’ve seen the courage it takes for survivors to come forward. I’ve also seen what happens when our laws fail them. Today, that’s changing.
I've had the honor of calling Bob Cousy a friend for more than a decade, and I can honestly say he's every bit as special off the court as he was on it. Humble. Gracious. Funny. Kind. That's who Cooz is.
The British are coming — and this time, no need to light the lanterns. Incredible flyover by the Royal Air Force this afternoon. Reminds us how far the United States and the United Kingdom have come over the past 250 years 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Donald Trump campaigned on affordability. Instead, he’s trying to kill a bipartisan bill to build more homes and lower housing costs. President Trump — do your job. Sign the bill.
Massachusetts didn't just launch the American Revolution — we’re home to one of our nation's greatest Fourth of July traditions. Tonight, Jane Lynch, Lainey Wilson, Chance the Rapper, Trombone Shorty, and so many others delivered the biggest and best Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular yet 🇺🇸🎶🎆
The fight for American independence began in Massachusetts — with ordinary people who believed in the promise of freedom, equality, and democracy. 250 years later, that same revolutionary spirit defines who we are. And it always will. Happy Fourth, Massachusetts! 🇺🇸
Still need plans for the Fourth? Massachusetts 250 events are happening all over the state 🎆 Visit Massachusetts250.org to find a celebration near you.
It’s hard to imagine the @celticsnba.bsky.social without Jaylen Brown. Thank you, Jaylen, for everything you gave to Massachusetts — on the court, in our communities and for the next generation of young people who look up to you. You’ll always have a home in Boston.
Massachusetts is where America got its start — and where 250th celebrations will be biggest and best. That’s why I’m making parking at state parks and beaches free all weekend long. Happy Fourth, Massachusetts! 🇺🇸🏖️☀️
Good news just in time for the holiday weekend — water testing has confirmed it’s safe to swim at state beaches impacted by last week’s sewage main break in Haverhill. I’m grateful to everyone who worked around the clock to protect public health and get families back to our waterways.
My statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to preserve birthright citizenship.
@joannalydgate.bsky.social and I are grateful to all public safety officials and volunteers at the World Cup. Fans from around the world are having a great time at Boston Stadium — and it’s thanks to the people working around the clock to make sure this tournament is safe, secure and successful.
It’s been incredible to watch AJ Dybansta’s journey. AJ is more than an extraordinary athlete. He’s a role model who inspires young people across Massachusetts and beyond. Congratulations, AJ. We’re proud to call you one of our own, and can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish.
SCOTUS’s decision to uphold Donald Trump’s cruel and harmful policy makes no sense and only hurts our immigrant families, our communities and our economy. Massachusetts stands with our Haitian and Syrian communities today and every day.
Young people from Worcester are heading to the England-Ghana match — part of our partnership with Airbnb that’s helping Massachusetts kids experience the World Cup for free. Seeing the excitement on their faces has been one of the best parts of hosting this tournament ⚽️
Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the generations of Black Americans who pushed our country to live up to its ideals. It's also a reminder that progress doesn't just happen. It happens because people speak out, organize, vote, lead, and refuse to accept injustice.
The Tartan Army has brought the energy, joy, and enthusiasm to Massachusetts. This is truly what the World Cup is all about.🏆
Congrats on the win, Scotland! 🏴 Between the bagpipes, the kilts, and thousands of Scotland fans turning Boston into their home away from home, the Tartan Army has made quite an impression on Massachusetts. It’s only fitting that I have my own kit and tartan for the next match.
There has never been anyone like Barney Frank. And there never will be again. Brilliant. Fearless. Hilarious. But beneath the sharp wit was a deep moral conviction. Barney could not stay silent in the face of injustice, and he never backed down from those who tried to justify it.
HUGE NEWS: Thanks to Airbnb, 1,100 kids from across Massachusetts are getting tickets to the World Cup — for free. The world's biggest sporting event is coming to our backyard, and we're making sure more young people have the chance to be part of the action.
Massachusetts has always been a place that believes in freedom. Freedom to speak up. Freedom to be yourself. Freedom to love who you love. That's worth celebrating this month, and always. Happy Pride 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
