One of my most favourite comic books of all times. Tardi doing Léo Malet. The brilliance starts with Malet’s Nestor Burma series (what a name for a private eye!). Each of the books is set in a different arrondissement of Paris. Malet was a surrealist poet who turned crime writer.
I should look up whether Heiner Müller read this before writing his texts on Frederick the Great. There are similarities in tone and approach.
Paul Werner was a Swiss journalist who reported from various wars and fronts in the 1930s and 1940s. In this book he exalts Finnish resistance against Soviet aggression. He is clearly anti-bolshevist in his attitude and curiously reticent about Fascism.
