Australians should accept substandard housing, Bragg says

Yesterday Andrew Bragg announced he would strip the 2,000 page national housing code down to just 80 pages, removing most standards outside health, fire safety and essential structural requirements.

It caused a furore among some including the Australian Council of Social Service (Acoss), who said it would lock renters into skyrocketing power bills to keep their homes inhabitable.

RN Breakfast host Sally Sara asks Bragg if his policy means low-income earners should just accept that they will live in substandard housing. "Yes, definitely", he replies.

BREAKING: Iran has completely ruled out any

future negotiations with the Trump administration, declaring it will wait out Donald Trump's term until January 20, 2029, per Iranian outlets and Ghalibaf advisor's post.

"Trump will not reach an agreement with us. We will accompany him until his term ends," said Majid Shakeri, advisor to Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf.

Iran's conditions remain unchanged: $300 billion in compensation, release of frozen assets, and withdrawal of U.S. forces. Until then, the Strait stays closed.

It doesn't seem to get talked about much but a big reason I support Starlight is their work with the families of palliative kids. Here's some information 💜

Starlight Moments creates experiences of fun, joy and happiness for families with a palliative child. The program recognises the challenges faced by families in this circumstance and offers opportunities for family connection and the simple joys of childhood, in a way that will be most meaningful to each unique family.

These experiences (also called 'Moments') are built around the little things that matter most to each family. This might be a treasure hunt at home, a picnic lunch with family and friends, an outing to the beach or a simple pizza and movie night in. The Starlight Moments team conceive these experiences, in collaboration with the family, and then make all the arrangements necessary to bring them to life.

Starlight Moments is delivered in close partnership with paediatric palliative care teams. Families are referred to the program by these teams, and health professionals provide regular insights that contribute to the planning and implementation of each Moment.

Moments are delivered to families on an ongoing basis, according to their preference, as well as their changing needs and circumstances. Appreciating the importance of care and connection after a child sadly dies, bereaved families are offered an additional 12 months of support from Starlight Moments.

I produced this under a ton of pressure so I went and checked my process from start to finish. I did use ChatGPT for research on this script and watching it I definitely get an Al feel, so I think it's fair to say I was relying too much on generated notes. That's a thing I've been doing and it's a bad habit at a time when I've overcommitted myself.

But I just went to the notes and the script for this and neither contain the “I appreciate the pushback" line, so that particular moment was an ad lib in reference to my guest pushing back on me saying that words are purely made up.

It probably just needs time to update in dashboard. I'd also check maybe it automatically started processing a payout and now your balance is low. I only had one payout ever so I don't remember how it looks.

While I'm all for accessibility options, I don't think any amount added into a fighting game will change a person's willingness to play or not. Thinking emoji.

Most games nowadays reward externally (passes, skins, currency) vs slow internal progression (knowledge, frames combos etc) that fighting games offer.
