all the pendants laid out on a towel, sorted roughly into good ones (left) and wonky ones (right) which will be Processed. there's a lot more successes than failures this time but i have not done a final quality check yet

pendant in a shape im calling "bottom heavy donut", its a torus with the gold slightly above center to give it a natural bottom. this one's got a bunch of blues stretching from the way they melted, they look frozen in an aborted movement

bh donut with a bunch of different greens including what looks like confetti suspended in clear on one side and sparkling aventurine on the other

bh donut with speckled magentas, purples and greens. lot of movement in this one too

red circle pendant (about 2 inches across with a hole for a cord) with a mix of speckle, swirling and oddly organic shapes

purple circular pendant with a mix of swirling ribbons and speckles and what looks like periwinkle flowers that have been through something alien called The Process

hot pink teardrop pendant, about 2 inches tall, with a variety of patterns including alien flowers and geologicesque stripes

today's firing

kiln shelf with molds producing 12 large (2 inch) circles, 6 small (1.5 inch) circles, 10 ovals and two teardrop pendants with holes (the molds have sticky up bits for the holes to form around). there's also 2 non-hole round molds that are actually tiny saucers for putting under tiny plants. i am mostly working with reds, blues, purples and greens

ok time to show off the ones that worked

teardrop shaped pendant with a mix of yellows with accents of orange, red white and clear. its got a lot of movement in it, you can tell it's an ex-liquid.

round pendant with hole in yellows, oranges, reds and clear. there's just a bit of dicroic glass along the bottom and there is a part of the design that you can tell is a spiral thing laid flat because you can see the twist where i cut it at the end

another round pendant much like the previous with more dichroic and the components arranged differently

an oval pendant with swirling, ribbonlike red in clear on top and purples on the bottom

most of what was in the kiln (both triangles failed and are missing) lined up in columns with the good ones on the left and the ones that need second drafts on the right

most of them melted fairly nicely, some are underfilled as always. i took out the mold for the big circle without a hole that was there before because it went weird when the kiln closed

i decided to give myself the gift of setting up kiln molds with a variety of interesting creative challenges so i have something to look forward to on sunday if i am sad it did not happen on live tv

kiln shelf with a bunch of empty molds. here is all the shapes of pendants they are making:
2 teardrops
2 fat triangles
1 large circle without a hole (all the other ones have holes for cord)
2 small circle without holes
8 large (about 2 inches across) circles (we're back to holes all the rest have holes)
4 ovals
12 small weighted donuts (i don't know what to call these but they are rounded on the bottom when the others are flat, so its less obvious in a finished piece which side is the top, and the hole is offset in a way that makes them bottom heavy)

these are not super interesting components on their own but i needed some light neutrals that don't have super intense detail for balance

they're basically different colors of cream the same as before but all the frit melted and combined into cohesive pieces
