Lightning this week really tough on central and eastern Oregon. So many new fire starts and massive smoke plumes. Red flag conditions with more hot, dry weather on the way. Many small communities under evacuation or on edge.

And now we arrive at the point of almost unbelievable warmth from the record smashing heat wave five years ago. Locations around town with down sloping east wind stayed incredibly warm overnight. Gresham HS near my house only cooled off to 89 degrees.

A silly milestone.. I’ve been wanting to watch more movies and from a broader swath of periods and genres. Anyway, yesterday I watched my 100th movie so far this year. All of them unique, first to me watches.
Models started seeing extreme heat about a week in advance and were pretty accurate for that much lead time.
