It's enrichment for them!! They refuse to eat algae wafers any other way now. It has to be wedged into a ball.

I might get a few more boraras and shrimp but I don't plan on stocking any larger fish or anything. I just wanted a bigger home for my bristlenoses! I also picked up a nearly new external filter second hand and this thing is so cool. The heater is built into it (and can be replaced)-

I'm very lucky to have been able to achieve my dream aquarium - 240litres to replace my two smaller tanks. I've gradually been breaking down my two tanks and transferred everything to this set-up. I currently have a get-along barrier up to stop my two Bristlenose groups fighting!

I've made three more giant cuddly bristlenoses! They use a combination of coloured and printed minky, mochi minky and soft velvet fabrics. They're very squishy and cuddly with clear heart-pupiled glass-like eyes. Available over here: www.palaeoplushies.com/shop/giant-b...

Anecdotally, I've also noticed my algae-eating Ancistrus yawn (particularly the females) when they've just woken up and emerged for their morning food. It's very different from a "threat display" with their cheek spikes as it seems to involve their whole face stretching!

A female Ancistrus sp. or common Bristlenose, caught mid-yawn. Her cheek-spikes are extended, her eyes are mid "blink" and her mouth is tensed in an unusual position.

Earl Grey the soft toy dire wolf sits on a lawn in the dappled shade. He has golden eyes. His face is digitally painted and printed onto grey minky fabric. His body consists of assorted faux furs- his mane is grey and his back is speckled with browns and greys. His legs have dark "socks" whilst the rest of his body is honey brown with a pale underbelly.

Honey the soft toy dire wolf sits on the lawn. Her mane is pale and her body a mix of honey and sandy browns. Her face is sublimated in similar colours, her eyes are a shiny grey.
