Black Country legend Brendan Hawthorne warming up for today’s opening show at #MidlandsFringe. Come see him in The Wheatsheaf. 12.30pm start.
Today #MidlandsFringe is bringing SEVEN brilliant shows to THREE excellent venues across Wolverhampton city centre. You'll find all the details here: www.midlandsfringe.co.uk
We've then got the final headline show for this year's #MidlandsFringe. Shazia Mirza brings her glorious comedy to the Arena Theatre. 8pm start. Tickets still available here: wlv.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/...
This evening, at 6pm, #MidlandsFringe welcomes 'Beethoven – Edge of Silence' to the city's Arena Theatre. This event will be in the Tilstone Studio space, and it's a PAYF event. We're really looking forward to it! 😊
Setting up for this evening’s #MidlandsFringe show “The Punkawallah’s Rope” by Chrys Salt in the Tistone Studio. 6pm start. A PAYF event. Come along! 😊
And after each of those Fringe events, we've got one of our headline comedy shows. On Wednesday, we welcome Phil Ellis to #MidlandsFringe. Show starts 8pm. Tickets still available here: wlv.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/...
We've two midweek Fringe shows coming up in the Tilstone Studio at the Arena Theatre. One on Wednesday, the other on Thursday. Each starts at 6pm and is a PAYF event. Both of them are really worth catching. 😊 #MidlandsFringe
We've had the best weekend at #MidlandsFringe. How about you? 😊 And there's more to come this week! www.midlandsfringe.co.uk
We then move over to the Lych Gate Tavern for another four shows. See you there! 😊
As part of #MidlandsFringe, we have a flotilla of volunteer reviewers who ensure every artist who performs at the Fringe gets a review of their show – invaluable when you're a performer. Two shows from yesterday already have reviews in. You can read them here: www.midlandsfringe.co.uk/reviews2026
Day One of #MidlandsFringe done and dusted! Tomorrow we've three shows at the Lych Gate Tavern, followed by another three at The Qattery. All pay-as-you-feel events. See you there! 😊
Today's the day, and our roadside posters are ready!! 😎#MidlandsFringe midlandsfringe.co.uk
We *almost* got a photo of one of the #MidlandsFringe dayglo roadside posters as we sped past it... but @emmapurshouse.bsky.social actually got a crystal clear image of her reflection in the car mirror, with a blurry poster in the distance. 😂 Can @davethepitt.bsky.social do better?
And the last of our three headline shows, on Thursday 23rd July, will be Shazia Mirza who'll be trying out new material in advance of her upcoming tour later this year. A chance for you to enjoy it before anyone else! wlv.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/...
On Wednesday 22nd, we welcome the madcap livewire that is Phil Ellis to #MidlandsFringe. Phil won a fistful of awards at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, so you know this is going to be well worth seeing. Be ready to laugh! wlv.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/...
We're also branching out. I Get Knocked Down is a film by @dunstanbruce.bsky.social about... well, about life in Chumbawamba, about re-discovering your mojo, about being an activist in middle age. It's screening on Monday July 20th, and there'll be a Q&A with Dunstan and co-director Sophie after.
Our next two pay-as-you-feel Fringe shows are in the Tilstone Studio in the Arena Theatre. One on Wednesday teatime, the other on Thursday. Each is just before one of our headline comedy shows. Both of them are going to be brilliant.
On Sunday July 19th, our #MidlandsFringe events kick off in our new, bonus venue: @waterstoneswton.bsky.social. We've two poetry shows here, starting at midday. You'll find details of all thirty-three Fringe shows at midlandsfringe.co.uk and these are no exception.
We kick everything off next Friday with three shows at K Teas Cakes, which is an utterly delightful cafe/restaurant WITH INCREDIBLE CAKE!! Is it worth visiting all year round? Yes. Is it especially worth visiting for the next two Fridays? Absolutely.
We're not *just* @midlandsfringe.bsky.social, you know. @davethepitt.bsky.social found time to write a review of last Sunday's Yes We Cant with @kierenking.bsky.social and @rose-condo-poet.bsky.social It's great. 😎 pandemonialists.substack.com/p/a-bit-of-a...
We spent this afternoon delivering @midlandsfringe.bsky.social posters and flyers to our venues. Keep your eyes peeled when you're in Wolverhampton city centre – and maybe send us photos of them displayed proudly in their natural habitat! 😎
One week till Yes We Cant returns to the Lych Gate! Open mic spots still available... @rose-condo-poet.bsky.social @kierenking.bsky.social
Thank you to everyone who turned up in the heat to last night's PASTA. The Tilston Theatre was packed out, we had cake, and then we revelled in the opportunity to listen to some outstanding work. Even better, we didn't have to watch the football. 😎 One day, all open mics will be this good.
PASTA returns to Wolverhampton's Arena Theatre next Tuesday for the final time before the summer break. Which means you've got the weekend to craft a piece on our first half theme. Is that a good thing? Or a bad thing? Is the cup half empty, or half full? You decide. 😎
Our @emmapurshouse.bsky.social has some gigs coming up...
Last night's edition of Yes We Cant was a purely online affair, and it was purely fantastic! Thanks to feature poets Roy McFarlane and Kate Noakes, to all our open mic poets – who knocked it completely out of the park – and to everyone who joined our audience for the evening. It. Was. Superb. 🙂
Next Tuesday evening, at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton, we'll be serving up another piping hot helping of PASTA. This month's theme? Setting the world on fire. 🔥
And here's the blog post! 😊 pandemonialists.substack.com/p/may-day-ce...
