First trip to the KY Renfaire today. The food was … not impressive. The level of craftsmanship & creativity at the booths & costuming & events was! We conquered the maze & I did some “swordfighting.” Our walk length was prob a mile. #warriornun #nunsrantheworld

An entrance in the middle of a tall wooden fence is topped by two yellow flags. The sign above it says “Knights’ Maze.” It looks like the fencing of a castle. The proprietor warned us to beware of the dragon, but alas, we encountered no dragon.

Noon parade of royalty and citizens. All are in medieval outfits, many of the ladies carry parasols, as it’s been HOT w/a brutal sun recently.

Here my gawky self is, in shorts and a pinkish sleeveless golf shirt, facing a gentleman in period dress (trousers, long-sleeved roughspun shirt, bandana on his head). We are both carrying swords & shields & advancing on each other. We’re under a tent, thank goodness, bc did I mention it’s hot?

Worked up a sweat this morning by sitting on the shady deck, vigorously reading a book & drinking coffee. #yetanotheritssohotpost #ughhumidity #heatdome (But just to be clear, I’d still rather have summer than winter).

Going wayyyyyyy wayyyyy back, Pilot from “Captain Power & the Soldiers Of the Future.” The actress wanted to leave the show, so the writers gave Pilot a hero’s death, but man, the character had a great backstory & a sweet developing romance (straight, sorry!) with the MC.

About 4 miles and 3-million feet* of elevation at The Pinnacles. Whew! It was warm, but low humidity meant it wasn’t unpleasant and the colors of the scenery were very vivid. *actual feet: 793, but very steep. #warriornun #nunsrantheworld

Bouldery trail with trees to the right. The trees are deceptive, as the hide the stomach-clenching drop about a foot from the trail. If you go over, you ain’t comin’ back.

Feeding them treats on their sides of the door at the same time, so they associate each other with something good, is a good bonding trick. I foster Feluk cats for our humane society & it’s bittersweet knowing time with them is limited. It’s a wonderful, strong thing you’re doing!
