New novel, PEPPERLEAF (Thirty West, 2026), and a story collection, BELOW THE FALLS (Thirty West, 2024). Words in Literary Hub, Virginia Quarterly Review, Shenandoah, Vol.1 Brooklyn, and elsewhere. PNW.
As of today, Pepperleaf has been out for two months! Seems like a decade and seems like yesterday. Been reflecting on how it’s strange that I’ll never know what 99% of the people who’ve read it actually think about it. We light a candle in the darkness and see a few more candles light up. Grateful.
Dozens of characters appear in Pepperleaf and all but one are ready and willing to entertain you. < Old Man Bock mutters and leaves the room >
Stoked for what came in the mail from @mattjakubowski.bsky.social and Bottlecap Press.
Very glad to say that in my hand is the Ghost Parachute anthology, which includes my story, “Nature,” from their May 2021 issue. Grateful to be included!
My favorite pic from last night’s book release party. It was a great night with friends, family, and folks I’d never met before. Thanks to all who came. I read a few excerpts, talked about my writing process, and we all laughed about how life can be.
Getting decorations ready for the book release party tomorrow night at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park!
Heyo, swell news over here…my novel Pepperleaf received some early press coverage from Seattle Magazine!
Morning car trip down a winding road along the middle fork of my favorite river, which has some great riverbank spots that are easy to get to. I was surprised to see snow dusting the peaks; I'm guessing it's from a recent storm that came through.
ARCs of my upcoming novel PEPPERLEAF have arrived! If you are a potential interviewer/reviewer/podcaster/etc. and would like one, reach out to me or @thirtywestph.com in the DMs, as we have a few to give out.
ICYMI here is my novel’s cover! Also, preorders are open! Here’s the link: www.thirtywestph.com/shop/p/peppe...
Check out the cover to my novel! Applause to publisher/designer @joshdale.co and artist Sophie (Knox) Peters for their vision…Knox’s cool sketches of balloon animals on the cover and throughout the book are not without purpose (but you’ll have to read the novel to find out why :) also...
As I live 45 minutes from T-Town and it's written by @aaronburch.bsky.social, I'm in.
