This is condescending and infantilizing. Yeah, no shit politicians are obligated to say something blandly respectful. The difference is the insincerity of campaigning and making speeches as if it’s a battle to save the nation itself, and then eulogizing your disagreeable but witty coworker.
My anti-AI origin story: In 2020, when I didn’t know any better, I used one of those apps to map my whiskery old face onto movie scenes. It seemed to think I was Bryan Cranston for some reason (I wish!) but the results were all hilariously bad and horrifying.
I like to imagine he looked into the flames and imagined the fiery deaths of his enemies (who were legion).
I like how he incorporated the fireplace from the place that we were renting in Oakland, which was Paz’s favorite place to sit in front of and think deep thoughts. After growing up in a cold apartment in San Francisco, it must’ve felt like heaven.
I commissioned this portrait of Pazuzu and Green Guy from @dsoart.com the master of medieval cats.
I keep expecting to see Paz coming around the corner when I go up or down the stairs, or feel him jump onto the bed to put us to sleep, or jump onto the back of my chair to check my computer work. He was the best.
Do I know anyone who uses the Uniball Zento pens? Do you have an issue with the ink seeming to dry up after only a couple pages of writing? There’s plenty left in the pen, and I’ve tried multiple pens & refills, but it keeps happening. Haven’t found anything online mentioning it.
I STG I trim my eyebrows regularly, but they instantly snap back into evil sorcerer mode, like Homer Simpson’s 5 o’clock shadow.
I dunno if middle age is hitting me hard, or I’m just reconnecting with the nerd I’ve always been, but I enjoyed *the hell* out of spending a half hour just practicing my handwriting today.
Just because America sucks now doesn’t mean I can’t spend the 4th suckin on a chili dog (with chili I made myself on Thursday). I’m not going to lie; this was pretty damn amazing.
I don’t want to tell Hank Green his business, but she was pretty clear as to how she preferred to be addressed.
Finally went to Flax Pen to Paper and inadvertently (but unsurprisingly) doubled the size of my pen collection. I only intended to get one of the TWSBIs, but I liked using it in the store so much that I wanted a “normal” one as well.
Maybe an odd question but does anybody have a brand/flavor of furikake that they like enough to recommend? This is the kind I’ve gotten for as long as I knew it was even a thing, but it’s never seemed worth the effort. It makes things look tasty but doesn’t really taste like much of anything.
My “buy things when you’re sad” habit has meant I’ve gone a little nuts getting pens and notebooks lately. I was feeling that first wave of consumerist guilt coming on, and then I realized that this is actually the *cheapest* hobby I’ve hyper-fixated on.
This was soon after we got back from a week in Hong Kong, when Pazuzu was making me wonder why I ever left the house at all.
My husband has never had as much patience for the whole “bear” thing as I do, but he’s hot so I guess I’ll keep him.
The sight of the horrors inside the mansion turned his hair shock white, etc, etc
Jason got me/us an Aura frame with a shared photo album of pictures of Pazuzu, and until we can find its permanent place it’s in front of the flowers we received from Rain last week. (Still beautiful after a week!) In addition to the cards and a picture frame, it’s been an outpouring of kindness.
Okay look I can explain. (The explanation is that I wanted these so I bought them).
I always thought the point of letting your hair grow out was to not have to think about it. But it’s only shoulder length and still constantly getting caught on things, blowing into open flames, and getting in my mouth. Not the breezy care-free lifestyle I’ve been sold all these years.
I can tell you a little story about one man who occasionally got the morbs, and turned out to be pretty important to a lot of people.
iOS auto-generated an album and playlist of selfies I’ve taken with Pazuzu over the years. Honestly only 589 items seems low.
