Taking a break before I start on the small details (so there's plenty of opportunity for me to screw up), but so far these are looking like the best Stormcast I've ever painted.

A mostly painted Stormcast Eternal miniature from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The gold armor has been dry-brushed over a dark brown base to give it an appearance similar to old weathered bronze.

It occurs to me that 2.6k followers is the sweetspot where I can post hot takes without getting dogpiled, so here we go:

The weak dog is "readers of cozy fiction," and says: "I harass everyone who makes me uncomfortable because I am just a smol bean."

After months of stalling, I've finally managed to break through my writer's block on my slasher novel, Lipstick. Over the past two weeks, the rough drafts word count has doubled from 8k to 16k. And I've written a draft of the blurb:

Lipstick Blurb:

Rais, Louisiana is a quiet little town. It's a peaceful and friendly place. So when the sheriff's daughter and her boyfriend are found brutally murdered, with red lipstick smeared over their faces, it sends shockwaves through the community.

Maggie Shepherd's parents are important people, but she's a nobody. At least, she's pretty sure she is. But now her parents are whispering about what happened, and she swears that she keeps hearing her own name on their lips.

Juliet Downey is a young woman with dreams of leaving Rais behind. Her father played football with the sheriff back in high school, and when he insists on trying to relive his glory days by inserting himself into the investigation, he drags her into it with him.

All Olivia Parsons wants to be is a good wife to her husband, Rais' Baptist preacher, and a good mother to kids. They're all pulling away from her, and she knows that's just because they're growing up, but with these recent murders she's started worrying that something far worse is happening in this place she calls home.

As the Lipstick Killer strikes again and again, as the bodies continue to pile up, layers of deceit and secrecy will be peeled away. Because at the heart of Rais is a festering wound, never acknowledged and never healed.

At long last, the town's darkest secret will see the light of day.

Went over to the new place yesterday and painted it.

A mostly bare room. There is a window looking out into a lush green tree. The wall the window sits on is painted purple. The other walls are painted a light, almost mint, green.

I have been thinking about this panel for years. Stan Lee's writing was truly without peer.
