Congratulations to @cagigunion.bsky.social on winning your union! Drivers have organized across distances and against millions spent to divide them. They built solidarity, found their collective power, and won a voice at work. That is how we win money, power and respect.
$2.2 BILLION withheld from California. $550 MILLION withheld from Minnesota. And who is left carrying the consequences? Seniors. Persons with disabilities. Care workers. Working families. Care is not a want. It’s a NEED. #CareIsEssential
To our Haitian siblings: we see you, we love you, and we will keep fighting for you. You belong here.💜✊🏿
People who qualify for Medicaid should not lose coverage because they missed a form, misunderstood a notice, or got trapped in government red tape. Care should be reliable. Period.
Elon Musk did not work a trillion times harder than anyone else. The tax code let his wealth grow untouched while working people paid taxes on every dollar they earned.
Healthcare access shouldn’t depend on how much you're willing to suffer at work. A good job should open doors, not lock you inside.
11 million Americans are about to pay more for prescription drugs. They worked. They paid into Medicare. They kept up their end of the bargain. Why won’t this administration do the same?
Every number on this chart is another family stretching a paycheck that cannot stretch any further. Working people aren't asking for luxury. We're asking to feed our families. That shouldn't be controversial.
Y’all, Black women in unions earn about $9,150 more a year than Black women without one. That is not charity. That is not luck. That is worker power. When we organize, we change the rules. That’s the union difference. 💜✊🏿
Workers’ fights do not stop at borders, and neither can our solidarity. From the United States, and Puerto Rico, to Canada, to communities across the globe, we are building partnerships across the labor movement because worker power anywhere strengthens worker power everywhere.
No family should have to live one court ruling away from losing the ability to work, pay rent, and care for the people they love. Immigrant workers belong here. We will keep fighting with them. ✊🏿
Turns out there's a $1.2 trillion reason corporations spend so much time and money on union busting.
How do I lead in a male-dominated world and spare egos? Easy answer: I don’t!
Airport service workers keep our airports running & are standing up for money, power & respect. While airlines double CEO pay, workers are demanding an end to poverty wages. Pass the Good Jobs for Good Airports Act & set standards for fair wages, healthcare & paid time off.
Essence Fest was a powerful reminder that the labor movement isn't separate from culture. We are culture. Working people create it. Black women shape it. Communities carry it forward. I'll carry this weekend with me for a long time. So grateful to have been part of it.
Attacks on immigrant workers are attacks on all workers. They want us divided because division protects the powerful. We're choosing something different. We're choosing solidarity. We're choosing each other. 💜 @1199seiu.org
The boss already knows how powerful workers are. The question is: do we?
A full tank of gas and a full grocery cart should not feel like a luxury. That's not asking for too much. That's asking for an economy that works for the people who keep it running.
Congratulations, Princess Moss! @neatoday.bsky.social is in strong hands. Here's to building power together. And to my sister Becky Pringle: thank you for showing us what principled, fearless leadership looks like. You carried this movement forward, and I’m grateful to have walked alongside you. 💜✊🏿
Helping me means helping each other. Organize your workplace. Show up for your community. Fight alongside your neighbors. Because when we show up for each other, there's nothing we can't build together. ✊🏿
Essence Fest was full of joy, power and truth. And the truth is this: we need each other now more than ever. Our power has never come from individualism. It comes from community. From collective action. From knowing that my fight is your fight. So yes, let’s bet on one another. ✊🏿💜
A workers’ rights agency that is making it harder for workers to defend their rights? Y’all hear how ridiculous that sounds?
