Funeral Director/Mortician/Undertaker Deep grief with ritual of radical gratitude.
The only in game interview I’ll allow: Kamala Harris. Exception: @barackobama.bsky.social when repping the #wnba all star festivities hosted at the new Obama Presidential Center. Should be legit! More on that: www.wnba.com/news/wnba-ob...
Current wallcovering spread for funeral home. Always open to outsider perspective.. s/o to Greg at Hirshfield’s being a boss helper in this process. It’s getting real with the foundational pieces of wall & floor coverings dialing in. The process continues with updated furniture & new art pieces.
She did the thing. It works for the funeral home. "America at 250 is not only about history. It is about the people who lived it, shaped it, carried it, and passed it on. This July 4th, we remember the many stories that make up the communities we call home. We the people carry the stories forward"
Image from a grief and craft gathering at the funeral home but gives more idea of the large space. I do love the chandeliers .. they dim and can bring the magic in evenings. I’m hoping those will able to stay but maybe I’m not opening my mind up to what more modern looks are now available!
This photo popped up.. One of my favorite times at the funeral home / grief offerings was building this spiral. Set up for this circle was an intentional one where I attempted to embody what it was I hoped space would be held for attendees. For reference, this is part of our large gathering space.
The rug we bought a year ago when we started this updating journey. We loved it & felt like it was a good starting point that inspired us & will pull the funeral home together & set the tone. Rug & the woodwork stay. Wallpaper getting an update, it will be diff from viewing room’s wall covering.
It's from etsy, a digital download piece. This is what I received.. (and thank you for considering!!)
Working with a funeral home family who would like 3 birds instead of the one bird on these branches for a memorial folder I am creating? Are you able to do that? Replicate something similar with 3 birds? Will compensate for your time. I just need it with a white background for adding to the folder.
The founder of The Bardo has guided Death Cafes at our funeral home but never had I been to the space. I was all in with The Bardo since I heard of it's rumored existence. It exceeded my expectations in all realms, & they were high. If I can't die at home, and it is known, may it be at The Bardo.
Spent time at The Bardo, an end of life sanctuary & space to die. Been following their journey for years as (deathphobic?) city officials gave them tough time licensing it to fruition. To be immersed in their mission was breathtaking. Truly, leading the way in a better way to die. www.thebardo.com
Just texted Ash the same.. Club = garden joint rolling. DM always open if you ever need a listening heart. Aging parents is big stuff, and not easy to process !
un/related: are we wedding twinsies?! love your dress & trombone!
So much women’s sports this weekend. The bestest. We sprinkled in more power house women action with our first viewing of Six the musical at the Ordway. That was a fuuuun time. Only regret: I didn’t buy a crown & they are not sold online. So, if you’re going before the show closes, swoop an extra?!
Back onto the #WNBA on tv! Rebecca Lobo and Lisa Leslie giving each other & the league their flowers. Year 30! Sparks & Liberty game getting closer! Had the opportunity to hit the Lynx/Mystics in the flesh earlier! Lynx took the L, but it was a goodie. Again, major love to K for the gifted tickets!
From myself & our funeral home to you.. Father's Day looks different for everyone. For some it's a phone call and a hug. For others it's a quiet ache, a dad who's gone, a relationship that never quite mended, a chair at the table that stays empty.
A tiiiime was had with @mnaurorafc.bsky.social community and Aurora got the W, bringing their incredible record to 10-0. EVERYONE WATCHES WOMENS SPORTS. Check our new fav Aurora tee we swooped & you'll probably need to buy one yourself. Aurora on point, always. shops.mnaurora.com/products/aur...
Awesome Open Eye Theatre driveway puppet show in a colleague of Ash's neighborhood. Welcomed into the fun! Open Eye is truly the best action. Be familiar, Twin Cities. We hosted a decade ago at the funeral home & will be hosting a show late summer! Stay tuned. www.openeyetheatre.org/driveway-tour
Science Museum tonight for their PRIDE evening! @nurdrocks.bsky.social soundtracking, exhibits open, bevs flowing.
Alt text: An outdoor baseball field lit up at night with a beautiful deep orange sky with a double rainbow.
We chose to do on of their 18+ evening (another one July 16th!) that included the option of a 6-11pm Zoo immersion! It was so fun to have both the light & dark play time. So glad you're considering it! Highly rec!
The #MNzoo is the best. #Wanderlight was awe inducing. Highly rec immersing yourself in the experience. For us, 18+ nights rock our world. Pro Tip: Wear good walking shoes. Catch your beverages at the standalone bar cart by the beehive upon entrance, other lines were 20+ deep for bevs. Relish in it!
Treetop Trail views at #MNzoo. Was an absolutely gorgeous night to be out.
Ashley upon arriving: I should have brought my binoculars.. Ash twenty minutes later blissed with birds and wildlife watching.
